ONE CHARGED IN KENT HOME INVASION - ONE SUSPECT STILL IN HOSPITAL - THIRD MAN CHARGED ON RETAKE WARRANT

(ROCK HALL, MD) -- Maryland State Police have charged one man and charges are pending against another in connection with an early morning home invasion in Kent County that ended in a police pursuit and a suspect wounded.

The charges stem from a home invasion and robbery involving multiple suspects just before 12:30 a.m. today at a home in the 8300-block of Broadneck Road, Chestertown, Md. A subsequent police pursuit of one of the alleged suspects in a stolen truck ended in Rock Hall.

One suspect is identified as Jermaine B. Ancrum, of the 100-block of Winfield Drive, Hurlock, Md. He is charged with armed robbery, first degree burglary, first and second degree assault, and use of a handgun in commission of a felony. After processing, he was taken before a court commissioner and ordered held on $250,000 bond.

Charges have not yet been served against the suspect driving the stolen vehicle who sustained a gunshot wound after attempting to run down the Kent County sheriff. He remains under police guard at a Baltimore hospital where he is being treated for his wound. He is in stable condition and is expected to survive.

A third man was taken into custody during the investigation of the home invasion. He has not been charged at this time in connection with the home invasion, but he has been arrested on a retake warrant from the Maryland Division of Correction and violation of probation charge from Talbot Co. He is identified as Steven M. Lewis, 43, of Potts Road, Worton, Md.
