School District Changes Policy Regarding Christian Song in Talent Show

A California school district, and a local PTA, have revised their policy prohibiting a disabled 5th grader from performing in his school’s talent show … to a Christian song.

View FoxLA Story here. (embedded video wouldn't take, sorry)

I wish I could say, “Only in California”, but we see this behavior throughout the country. If not for the work of groups like the Alliance Defense Fund, Christians would face even greater instances of their right to worship being stripped from us.

For those who want to hear this “offensive song”, view the video below:

yeah...songs about shining God's light and speaking words of love...DANGEROUS! Much more "appropriate" songs out there for a 5th grader to do...(lots of sarcasm there)

I am a strong Christian, very active in my church, and yet I realize that this song would not be appropriate for a school setting. It is a wonderful piece for a contemporary worship service but not for school. There are so many non-Christians who attend our schools now that it would not be fitting for this song to be sung. I love the song--it's very powerful--but it needs to be in a worship setting, not in a public school.

Our country was founded on Christian principles. Yet our kids cannot sing about Jesus or God in achool. I bet they wouldn't have a problem with it if the song was about sex, drugs or violence, The world is upside down. people call right wrong and wrong right. We would be better off letting our kids listen to songs praising God instead of kicking God out of our schools. That is why public schools have done so poorly teaching our kids. Every since kicking prayer out of school because of one atheist woman. Our founders of our great country would turn over in their graves if they knew what has become of the great christian nation they started. God help us all.

if you really think that, you are not a strong christian. The bible says that spread the word at all costs. All settings are the appropriate setting in jesus's eyes, and it should be yours too.
