Go figure...school is out and they still get a break! Just goes to show that it's not always about the kids!
I road by there yesterday and trucks were plowing during the blizzard. This being done on a Sunday and they canceled work today any how. What a waste of time and money.

There are many businesses that closed or have delayed openings. Why do people insist on making nasty remarks about the Board of Ed being closed or delayed? Are you all just annoyed that maybe the Board cares a little bit about their employees safety? Just FYI, Board employees were all made to take vacation or personal time over the holiday. If they did not want to do so, they have to work in the Board office. SO, HOW MANY PEOPLE DO YOU THINK ARE WORKING? Get over yourselves and whine about something else for a change. These people take care of YOUR kids every day...give them a break!

8:56 No - a 75 year old who never taught school or worked in any capacity for the school system.
I intend to use the statement "Keep up the good work of complaining y'all" many times over the next year on this site. I find SBYNews very entertaining with all the petty complaining remarks. Be greatful for what you have.
All other County workers were asked to be there on time this morning, the BOE could have done the same. But I suppose that since they are special, they "take care of [MY] kids every day" that they deserve a break and the "Board cares a little bit about their employees safety" that they can have a couple hours off. That makes it all ok now...
I work for the BOE, I was granted a day off yesterday and two hours off this morning. I won't apologize for it either. You don't like it, get a job at the BOE, they are always looking for great employees. There were SEVERAL people that went in on time and some even earlier to get things done around our schools and facilities. I can tell you something else too. Unless you work at a fast food joint, you probably make more than I do. I sure didn't go to the BOE for the money. I make three dollars and some change less than I did in the private sector. I went for the retirement benefits, the health insurance and the time off I get to spend with my kids and I'm not sorry I did. You chose your job, and I chose mine. Live with it or change. Either way, quit complaining about it.
