Richard M. Pollitt, Jr., took the oath of office for the second time as Wicomico County Executive at noon today. In 2006, Mr. Pollitt was elected as Wicomico County’s first executive joining six other county executives in Maryland.
Following the swearing-in ceremony, Mr. Pollitt said, “It has been the honor of a lifetime to serve as our county’s first executive and the re-affirmation of the public’s confidence in me on Election Day has only enhanced my desire to continue to serve for another four years. These are challenging times for Wicomico County and I pledge to work on a bipartisan basis to keep our county strong. The time has come to grasp the reins of government with vigor and solid purpose to bring our community to its fullest potential. The hand-wringing and moaning and groaning about how bad things are must come to an end. We must, as one community, declare our independence from despair and commit ourselves to the obligations of citizenship that call us together to keep our county strong.”

Keep the county depts honest,open,be transparent in your government. Tax Cap stays in place.
I was there and almost threw up in my mouth when Pollitt quoted Obama, bragged about knowing a certain female who "was" Speaker of the House in congress and last but not least Barrie Parsons Tilghman. BARF!!

6:26, its not a tax cap, its a revenue cap. (big difference) Once makes sense (tax cap), one is sure to make this county look like a third world country. (revenue cap) But look at it this way, it's a great place to buy and sell real estate..............not!
Many don't realize the revenue cap was driven by a group of crooked realators who were pushing it for short term personal gains.
He kinda doesn't have much choice when it comes to bipartisanship...the council is stacked Republican. Although a tax-cap would work, we'll probably keep the revenue-cap and be forced to do with less.....but he still doesn't get it.....
7:06, you should get your ears checked. You were right when you said he quoted Obama, but he did not say he knew a speaker of the house; he said he had a funny story about his grandfather and the little girl who grew up to be speaker. He did not quote Mayor Tilghman; he quoted a prayer given to him by her father, a fine man in anyone's book. Get your facts straight or just be quiet. And yes, I was there and actually listening.
