SHOREBIRDS COLLECTING TOYS FOR TOTS THIS HOLIDAY SEASON

Bring New and Unwrapped Toys to Arthur W. Perdue Stadium

Salisbury, Md. - The Delmarva Shorebirds are once again collecting new and unwrapped toys at Arthur W. Perdue Stadium as part of the Toys for Tots program. The Shorebirds front office is opened for drop off Monday through Friday from 8:30 a.m. until 5:00 p.m.  The drop box is located just inside the front office at Perdue Stadium.

Toys for Tots was developed by the United States Marine Corps Reserve to collect new and unwrapped toys during October, November and December. The toys are then distributed as Christmas gifts to underprivileged children in the community.

"Toys for Tots is a tremendous program and we are honored to serve as a drop off site," said general manager Chris Bitters. "I want to personally encourage everyone that can to bring a toy to Perdue Stadium because each toy will help brighten the holiday season for the children of the Eastern Shore."

Toys for Tots has been ongoing in Wicomico County for 27 years. Each toy collected at Arthur W. Perdue Stadium will be distributed to children on the Eastern Shore. In 2009, over 14,000 toys were given out to over 7,000 children.
