You Make The Call

If you're anything like me, getting a DEAL on certain things makes me feel really good. Sam's Club has always been notorious for having great prices on many items but in this case it looks more like the big retail giant is seriously taking advantage of the consumer.

Over the past two or three winters, Sam's made it somewhat convenient, (price wise) to go up there and buy wood pellets by the bag or even by the skid. Last year when I found another local connection for pellets I chose to have them delivered to my home for around the same price Sam's Club was selling them for.

However, now is the time to expose one of our advertisers who deserves the special attention they deserve.
Delmarva Wood Pellets delivered two skids of pellets to my home last week for LESS money than you can buy at Sam's Club by the bag! If you want to pick them up, (just like you would at Sam's Club) they're only $4.00 a bag!

NOW is the time to stock up on pellets and if I were you, if you have a pellet stove, call this company up and get them delivered before they run out. Everyone who has a pellet stove knows, when you get closer to the end of the season these pellets are very difficult to find.

If you do not have a pellet stove, let me tell you something Folks. I have a 3,500 sq. ft. home and one stove heats my entire home. Do the math. I spend $500.00 a year to heat my home, that's it! To those smarty pants who want to comment saying it must be really cold in my home, my home stays at 85 degrees all winter! So if you do not have a pellet stove but you're thinking about one, they are very easy to clean and nothing like a wood burning fireplace.

It's clear that Sam's is counting on people thinking they will automatically be getting the best price on something just because they're at Sam's, so they just go through the place and load up.
I saw something a while back that made me do a double-take.
Sam's had the 12-roll B---ty paper towels for about $16.89.
The EXACT same thing was on sale at Walmart for $12.50.
Wherever you go, don't assume. Compare.

At 85 degrees, you will ruin your health before long -- that's way to high.

I don't understand people that use oil or gas to heat their home. We use 2 electric heat pumps and our electric bill remains constant the entire year, no paying $300++ a month for fuel. These are newer high efficiency units, cost us $5000 total to install including all the ductwork etc. (we had baseboard heat before) We also had new attic insulation put in R-26 fiberglass for $1500 installed. (including removal and disposal of the 30 year old insulation, and all new soffet vents, etc). Our house is brick with vinyl windows (windows about 10 years old).

Our entire electric bill is $180 a month on average. We have a 2500 sq. ft. house and keep it 68 degrees year round. Our water heater, washer/dryer and range are all electric. Now this is on Delaware Electric Co-Op with load meters, I think it's like 6.3cents per Kwh? Delmarva Power is what twice that?

We just installed a magnum countryside corn stove that will burn wood pellets or wheat. We have yet to fire it up for the first time, but plan to heat our entire 3000+ home with it and doing the math it absolutely MUST be a savings compared to what we spent last year on fuel
