You can't thank Lore Chambers for her pet project with inviting the homeless people here with open arms. Many of them coming here after being released from ECI. I remember Mayor Liarton winking to everybody how he was going to make everyone re-apply for their jobs. (wink, wink). And you wonder why we have such a high crime rate.
I would have to ask the question "how long has this guy been homeless" and also ask the question "IS this guy really homeless"?
I don't believe for a minute this has anything to do with Republican vs. Democrat.
However, I can tell you that I had more money in my pocket before George W. Bush was elected to office.
As far as Obama, the money in my pocket hasn't changed but everything else seems to have.
Is ALL of that Obama's fault?
I think not.
There's enough blame to go around on BOTH sides of the aisle!
I am as Republican as they come but are you going to pretend like this wasnt going on and Salisbury didnt suck when we had Ehrlich and W in office?

The VA should be able to help this guy, if indeed he is a Veteran. However, with Obamacare if he can not afford government required health insurance, he will be fined or jailed. Wake up America! How can this be happening in my Country. Its time to clean the house. and senate. Please vote on Nov. 2nd.

Pump the breaks America. We are fighting two wars. We have dept coming out of our &%$. We have elected a government that is not interested in governing but dictating. Have our leaders forgotten about WE THE PEOPLE? They work FOR us, not OVER us. We should be getting what we want, not what the elected officials feel we need. I serve this country in a uniform every day and what am I fighting for? I can tell you this... it is certainly not the rights of the government. Wake up and elect people that will do what YOU want them to!

Where is the old guy with the dog and shopping cart..He used to sit in front of Benedict the florist...That guy has to be rich by now...People hand him money all the time..He has made begging a full time job...come on fella. to ask for help is one thing, but if you can stand on street corner and beg everyday , then you can get a job..Your back and legs are in far better shape then mine..That poor dog at least he is getting lots of attention,,And doggie biscuits....
Voted today and I sure hope alot of changes happen.
This is sad that these men and women essentially give their life for our freedom and come home to no support or help at all. Why is this? I had the opportunity to attend NATRA's 2nd annual Stand off for Veterans event that is going on 24/7 until Sunday at 6:00 p.m. at the Redmans Lodge in Fruitland. It is nice to know that there are some people out there that care about these Vets and trying amongst many obstacles and red tape to provide services to help. So Joe please do a story on NATRA and Mr. Jerry Black. It's well worth your time and it may get the word out there for Vets in need of services.
Every time I see a homeless person I alway stop to talk with them and offer them food. So let's pass it forward shall we. It only takes one person to help another and that it the right,just and godly thing to do.

To comment 5:34 pm. Thank you for that statment. I wore a uniform for my Country and I was drafted, and I didn't complain. Did I want to be drafted? NO. However, I served my Country. Things were tough in 1967 thru 1969 abroad and here in our own Country,but somehow we still belived in our Government then. Today its not the same. Thank God for you serving our Country. I thank you!

I live right around the corner from here, and these guys are out ALL day. As long as its sunny and nice out, once the rain and snow come down they don't feel the need to beg for money anymore for some reason. Also, they work together. It's like 3 of them that sit this corner. And when they trade off, they trade off money too. I'm not quite sure what they're doing, but they definitly work together, its very suspicious looking. And they def make money, I constantly see people handing out money to these guys. And i guearantee these guys make more in one day than most of the people handing out the money. It's a shame. I understand the economy is bad, but it's not that HARD to find a job. Most unemployed people aren't working because they can't find a job working where they want to work, and for the pay they want to make. But you can't tell me that all these fast food restaurants aren't hiring. These men sit on the corner because they're making hundreds in one day, why would they work a legimate job for 7 dollars an hour?
I was also going to mention the NATRA stand Down event...
Anyhow it is not the Democrats ruining us,it is the current crop we have in office and their policies.When Bill Clinton was on office I was making 45K a year.....fast forward to 15 yrs later and my husband and I together do not even come close to making that much.He has a skill that in an ordinary economy would get him a good job but with nobody hiring right now,he has had to settle for a job making less than half what he is used to earning.I am working PT and trying to get ANOTHER PT job.People with less fortitude and pride would just say heck with it and go on welfare....I will say that it is mostly working class suffering.Small business owners are not hiring because they have no incentive to.They are still spending big money on themselves but they are not investing in their business and that hurts everyone else.Until the economy is better there just is no end in sight to the struggle.I cannot really blame anyone who doesnt want to take a job they cannot live on,as much as I want to.Things are bad and are not getting better soon.We need to remember that "government" is nothing more than people and we can vote those people OUT next week.
