ANNAPOLIS – Maryland Republican Party Chairman Audrey Scott released the following statement in response to President Obama’s unemployment address in Bladensburg, Maryland:
“Today’s abysmal unemployment numbers confirm what we already knew, the economic policies of this White House and the O’Malley Administration have failed. They are taking America and Maryland in the wrong direction, and it’s time to stop the reckless fiscal mismanagement and out-of-control growth of government that’s putting us deeper into debt. Maryland’s continued record unemployment makes it clear that higher taxes, and massive budget deficits are only increasing the economic uncertainty that is stifling job growth.
“The fact that the White House and the O’Malley Administration continue to treat high unemployment and massive debt as a political problem, instead of an economic problem, reflects a mind-set that is out-of-touch with the hundreds of thousands of unemployed Marylanders. It’s clear that this Administration has lost grip on the reality of their policies, and these latest jobs numbers are the final verdict on Obama and O’Malley’s failed economic agenda.
“Sadly, it appears Maryland’s September unemployment situation will reflect these dismal national numbers. O’Malley needs to come clean with Marylanders about the State’s unemployment situation later this month and avoid any repeats of the July jobs cover-up.”

Md 's unemployment and creation of jobs is so bad it is being felt by the MD State Police. They have had to move Officers from the Scales Division and put them back on the road. Reason is because the lack of trucks on the road. Since trucks are a very important part of the economy by moving goods and all types of material, how can a Politian tell me things are getting better or has stabilized means they don't know the facts. I am no fool and will remember their reteric when I pull the lever.
They have too many useless scales in Md. anyway. They need to get off their butt and do some work for a change. Stop harassing people who are trying to make a living and catch some criminals for a while. Lord knows we have more than enough to keep you busy.
