As President Obama was preparing for a Washington summit with the Israeli and Palestinian leaders, Palestinian terrorists today carried out a shooting attack, killing two Jewish men and two women, one of whom was pregnant.
The attack took place in the West Bank just south of the entrance to Kiryat Arba, near the historic biblical city of Hebron.
Israeli security officials say the terrorist shooting was a coordinated ambush.
Fawzi Barhoum, a spokesman for Hamas, confirmed to WND his group was behind the attack.
In the last year, the Israeli government removed 19 staffed checkpoints in the West Bank. At least 15 of the removed barriers are in the vicinity of Hebron.
The checkpoints were dismantled in line with demands from the Palestinian Authority that were passed on to Israel by the Obama administration.
George Mitchell, the White House envoy to the Israeli-Palestinian conflict, specifically requested that Israel remove roadblocks and checkpoints as a confidence-building gesture to restart talks with the PA, Israeli officials told WND.
Anti-terror roadblocks and checkpoints impede Palestinian movement, but have been credited with stopping scores of attacks.
The attack occurred just before Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu's plane landed in Washington, where the Israeli leader is set to begin direct negotiations with PA President Mahmoud Abbas. The negotiations are aimed at creating a Palestinian state.

But didn't the President declare that the USA would alawys be the friend and ally of Israel?? This is what allies do for each other, isn't it? Make each other as vunerable as possible to attack from their enemies who have SWORN and have made it their OFFICIAL position to destroy Israel and to completely erase them from the face of the Earth? No President, since the establishment of the state of Israel, has done more to help Israel's enemies, and to weaken Israel on all fronts than this Muslim pretender. Let's see ---the ONLY democratic country in the region (Israel) is being deliberately sabotaged to the benefit of entities like Hamas, who kill and murder thousands, the PLO, who do the same, and countries like Iran, who seek nuclear weapons to "destroy the Zionist Nation Of Israel" and make those threats openly and on a daily basis, ans Syria, whose murderous dictator supplies the terrorist groups with weapons and bomb making materials.... Is there REALLY any question as to the TRUE nature of Obama's intentions???
uh, take a chill pill 9;37. This attack would have taken place somewhere regardless of the checkpoints precisely because while the majority of the citizenry wants to live in peace, you have those either in power or looking for power that have a vested interest in maintaining the status quo. All the broad "Obama is a muslim lover" crap plays right into the same people's hands.

uh...10:08...the checkpoints that he demanded be dismantled, according to the article, had already stopped many, many attacks. Did I mis-state any facts?? I questioned, rightly so, Obama's intentions, based ON HIS ACTIONS. As far as Obama loving the Muslims, tasking NASA to "make the Muslims feel good about themselves", bowing to the dictator of Saudia Arabia, and hosting a Ramadan dinner at the White House, while ignoring the National Prayer Day, among MANY other ass-kissing actions toward less than 1% of our population pretty much seals the deal for me. FACTS, my brother, FACTS. Argue THEM. And whoever said the "majority" of those muslims DON'T support Hamas? Because, when they hold rallies, THOUSANDS and THOUSANDS take to the streets chanting "death to Israel!!" and burning American flags and waving banners....Justa small minority huh??? Our President spends a LOT of time and energy trying to mollify a RELIGION...not a political group, but a religious one! To what end?
When will people learn that making deals with Palestinians is like trying to befriend a rabid dog. No matter what, in the end he will bite you, over and over again. Isreal should be given free reign to deal with these people. For every rocket they fired in Isreal, I would level one of their cities. That they understand.
