OCPD IDENTIFIES SUSPECT IN STABBING – SEEKS THE PUBLIC’S ASSISTANCE


Ocean City Police have recently identified the suspect in a stabbing that occurred in the area of 5401 Coastal Highway on July 24, 2010 at 2:10 a.m. Officers have named Manuel Armando Escalante, Jr, 36, from Federalsburg, Maryland, as the suspect in the resort stabbing. Escalante Jr. is approximately 5’09” and 150 lbs, and should be considered armed and dangerous.

Ocean City Police responded to 5401 Coastal Highway during the early morning hours of Saturday, July 24, 2010, for a reported stabbing. Upon arrival, officers located one male victim, whose name is not being released at this time, lying in the parking lot.

Investigation revealed that the victim was approached and assaulted by Escalante Jr. According to witnesses, Escalante Jr. then stabbed the victim several times. Officers learned that the victim and Escalante Jr. had a previous disagreement that led up to this event.

The victim was taken to Peninsula Regional Medical Center and is currently being treated for his injuries. Ocean City Police are asking anyone with knowledge of the whereabouts of Escalante Jr. to call Sgt. Todd Wood of the Ocean City Criminal Investigation Division at 443.235.0091.
