Five Teenagers Nabbed Following Burglary Investigation

Davis and Joachim were remanded to Sussex Correctional Institute in lieu of 10,251 secured bonds each.
The two 15 year olds and 13 year-old were all remanded to the Stevenson House in lieu of $10,251 secured bond.

On Friday July 16, 2010 Delaware State Police investigated a burglary complaint which occurred on Addy Road, Bethany Beach, Delaware. The burglary is believed to have occurred between 9:00 a.m. and 1:36 p.m. Friday July 16, 2010.

The investigation began as an observant neighbor noticed suspicious activity on Addy Road Bethany Beach. The neighbor observed two males walk behind a residence on the unit block of Addy Road. The witness having knowledge of neighbors and their vehicles knew something wasn’t right and immediately notified the police.

Security for the development along with Bethany Beach Police Department were summoned to investigate however when they arrived they were told that two white male suspects had fled the area on foot. The neighbor provided suspect descriptions to the police. Two vehicles were located at the scene and registration searches conducted. The vehicles at the residence were 2005 Acura TL and 2009 Honda Civic. Both of these vehicles were confirmed stolen from Kent County Delaware earlier that day. The Honda was taken from the Camden and the Acura from Magnolia of Kent County.

A Short time later all of the suspects were apprehended; two suspects were seen and apprehended by Ocean View Police on Kent Avenue. Additionally two other white males and a black male were located near SR 1 by South Bethany Police department.

State Police discovered that the five teenagers had stolen two vehicles from Kent County driven them to Sussex County and committed a burglary on Addy Road, Bethany Beach. State Police conducted a search of the vehicles and also recovered three bottles of liquor, glass smoking pipe, a grinder used to grind marijuana and a small bag of marijuana.

One of the 15 year-old boys was also found to be a runaway from Kent County. State Police arrested all five subjects for burglary, receiving stolen property and other related offenses.
