Salisbury News received multiple phone calls and e-mail messages early Friday morning referencing residents hearing helicopters and police around their neighborhoods and asked Salisbury News what was going on.
We responded to these requests by telling everyone that one of Salisbury's Most Wanted was being chased, yet we didn't know until last night that he was in fact apprehended.
The Maryland State Police Gang Unit went to serve an arrest warrant on Joseph Terry Wilson for a shooting on Smith St.
Wilson jumped out a second story window and fled on foot but was later arrested on Emerson Ave.
MSP, SPD and WCSD all worked together to bringing this fugitive to justice.

Good job officers.
Way to go!
An observant citizen was a large part of this as well-shows what community involvement can do!
Terrific news, Joe!
Thank you MSP, SPD and WCSD!!!!!!!!!!!
Now, to you in the court system...keep this animal off our streets!!!!!!!!!!
If only MSP had coordinated with SPD when serving the warrent the suspect would have been caught and would not have fled. Inter agency cooperation not over inflated departmental egos.... and yes good job on finally capturing the suspect and kudos to the person that called the police on a suspicious person in the neighborhood.
He'll be in jail long enough for us to pay for his degree in law.
Are we running out of ammo in the police depts? Saves a lot of money to shoot these dudes.
Great Job!
Joe...have you thought about adding a "like" button to your articles? Like facebook! I would definitely "like" this story! :D
1258 I was on scene with you on Emerson the next day you are a SPD officer and should keep your mouth shut i know who you are and much more I will address your comments you made on scene with you I over you make the same statements on scene I hope Fruitland does not hire you
Kudos Anon 10:34. So anon. 12:58 must be the one and only Officer Troy Underwood. S.P.D. would benefit if you left, unfortunatley the Fruitland Police would suffer.

Gee, real mature cops we have here on the shore. No wonder criminals think you're a joke.
11:35.. There is drama in every type of work atmosphere. But I agree- SPD you did a fine job apprehending the fugitive, so I think you, and all other agencies, should remain professional and keep the bickering off of a public forum. You are all excellent men and women, so don't tarnish your reputations with pettiness.
Great job on apprehending the suspect! Thanks to the citizen for reporting it. I work at Deer's Head Hospital and was wondering what the heck was going on! thanks for reporting it Joe!

Thanks. You said it better than I did.
Nice job everyone!!
Thank God another gang member is off the street. Now for the court system. Don't put him back on the streets to be charged next year with the same crimes against another human being. attempted murder...to hand gun violations. If these characters want to be thugs, let them do thug time. That includes Derrien Douglas.
How about a shout out to the two ROOKIE officers that were the first on the scene to apprehend this guy after the citizen called in. Kudos to Officers Kissinger and Foy. You are both a credit to you agency and your chosen profession. Now let's hope they stick around for a while.
Couldn't agree more with the above comments from Anom 10:34. There are very fine law enforcement officers here, stop the bickering, and solve your problems someplace othe than a public forum where criminals can see & read it. Other than that, i've got plenty of ammo, and i'll keep buying. Gun control. Hit yer targets, good people.
He was apprehended because he broke his leg trying to get away earlier in the evening. It doesn't take much to catch a crippled punk. Great job to the concerned citizens of Salisbury.
