SHOREBIRDS GAME NOTES: 5/22 vs. Hagerstown

PREVIEW: The Shorebirds have dropped the first three games of the series to Hagerstown including both games of the doubleheader last night. The Shorebirds look to end their second four game losing streak in the last two runs. Delmarva have dropped seven of their last eight games to fall 8.0 games back of Hickory in the Northern Division.

BERRY PROMOTED: The Baltimore Orioles have promoted to Ryan Berry to the Frederick Keys. He is expected to make his first Carolina League start tonight against the Kinston Indians at 6:00 p.m. In eight starts with the Shorebirds, Berry went 0-3 with a 3.50 ERA. He led the Shorebirds staff in strikeouts (43) and was second on the staff in innings pitched (46.1).

SECOND IN THE LEAGUE: Brian Conley ranks second in the SAL in walks with 30. Only Evan Chambers of West Virginia has more, 33. Conley ranks first in the Orioles system (including the big leagues). Nick Markakis is second with 29.

KOLODNY ALL OVER LEADERBOARD: Kolodny ranks second in the SAL in homers (10), second in slugging percentage (.570), second in extra-base hits (22) and tied for eighth in RBIs (29).

ERRORLESS STREAKS: Two Shorebirds have been sound defensively of late. First baseman Tyler Stampone has gone without an error in 23 straight games. Outfielder Mikey Planeta has played 17 straight error free games.
