Registered as a democrat; but... after all these years (46) I am changing my party. Either republican or independent. I feel my registration reflects my opinion, and I can no longer go with the democratic party. I am concerned about primary votes so we'll see. Republican I guess.

Registered as a Republican, but usually vote for the candidate with the best projection of fiscal responsibility. Salisbury's best politicians are Debbie Campbell and Terry Cohen and they are both Democrats. Go figure!
Independent - always was and always will be an independent thinker. Neither party holds any appeal to me - both are merely pushing their own adgenda. Positive change will never occur until we break away from the partisan politics.

I have been a Democrat for 51 years as was my family before me, but interestingly you are asking as this past MONDAY I went to the Wicomico County Board of Elections and changed my affiliation to REPUBLICAN. I have voted that way for about 10 years, so why not support them in every way.

Party affiliation really does not matter. What really matters is whether or not you vote your conscience--that means STOP voting based on party affiliation and start voting based on the platform each individual person/politician presents.

Republican. I have been known to cross party lines to support the better candidate. I was even on the election committee for Sheriff Charles Martin (D) for his winning election against the then sitting Worcester County sheriff who was also a Dem. It's the best person first in my book.

Absolutely, even though I just changed to Republican, I will continue to vote for whom I feel is best for the job. My only regret is I won't be voting in the primary as someone said, but oh well.. Those that voted Democrat must have voted early and often here too. LOL

Democrat. Registered that way so I could vote in their primaries which are more interesting to watch results on in this state. But I always vote Republican! And now that I think of it, it might be a useful way to influence a swing vote to select the least likely to win Democrat candidate for the next national election!

I am a Republican at heart! I am also a State of MD employee so I change party affiliations after the Governor is elected every 4 years no matter what he/she may be. "They" say your party affiliation doesn't matter but I'm not so sure. Job security is everything in this ecomony.
Was a Republican but got over that along time ago, when Bush tied on Iran - do Republicans ever read history books? And while a devout fundamental Christian, can't stomach the extreme right wingers.
Registered as a Democrat, got over that too - what is the Democratic Party thinking when they embrace extreme liberalism, they almost chase you back to being a Republican.
So now I agree totally with 2:18, an independent interested in voting for people who I think will do the job and not support party politics to the exclusion of what is good for the populace!!
I really hate it that a lot of people who are fed up with "their" party are now becoming independents instead of just going to the other side. You apparently liked being part of one party or another.
The Democratic Party and the Republican Party are neither one what they used to be. Not at all!
Independent means you don't follow the all the views of either of the other 2 parties but I'm meeting more and more Independents who truly follow the beliefs wholeheartedly of the Republican Party. A few years ago it was Republicans leaving their party because they agreed with everything the Democrats stood for.
If you're that into them, then why are you registered as INDEPENDENT?

Registering independent *IS* taking a stand. Why should you register for either party if you have significant differences with both?
It makes no sense to give loyalty to either party unless you really agree with them a wide majority of the time.
