Great to see Salisbury on national TV for something other than a horrific crime. The mayor did very well and represented our "hometown" in a professional manor.
Ok I'm no fan of the Mayor but you know what, that was a good interview. Jim, quick question though, do you and the other anti business Democrats, both here and in Mass. hear us Tea Partiers yet?
Salisbury and the Lower Eastern Shore should be proud to have several national TV & Movie personalities from here like Erin Burnett of CNBC, who grew up in Mardela Springs and Mike Seidel of the Weather Channel who was raised in Salisbury and actress Linda Hamilton and actor John Glover who both were from Salibury.
I thought he did a great job. That was a combination of serious and then somewhat lighter subjects...he kept on track and showed SBY in the best possible light. No small job there.
I think he doesnt see the real economy here in the area. Its crap. There are so many people out of work and closing down their businessess its shocking. I know so many people who have lost or are losing their homes its shocking. This area must have building and construction to survive. There are alot of local good people that didnt go to college but have worked in this industry all their adult lives, we need it, the town needs it and the tax base needs it. I dont see any differance between the city and the county anymore, were all in this together. But Jim did look very proffesional and represented all of us well.
How odd that is unable to teach in his half time position because his injury has him on disability but he is able to do his mayoral job. Students are surprised he is healthy enough to be having press conferences and doing interviews, but he has been out of school for months now.
good job jim.let them in d.c. know we are watchin.that discounted stimulous money is important to moving the economy.big bank risk is far greater than spreading it among people trying to start their own businesses whom are out of work.waiting for the govt to CREATE jobs is a head in the sand idiology.

That's kind of an ignorant comment. His ankle was completely shattered. He has enough screw and brace metal in his foot and ankle at this point he has to carry a doctor's letter to get past airport security.
337 Threatening tone? Hardly, but please consider that your fear of a fight might be why we are where we are. I have observfed first hand how this Mayor leads, and that is my problem with him. Also, many that laying "in bed" with our Mayor want Perdue to GO AWAY. There is a disconnect between the people that live in the county and those living in the city/suburb areas. When will so many here on the Delmarva especially the enviro nuts realize that if Perdue moves to NC, like many of our other employers, the effects will be far reaching and hit in such a way that few can imagine the cascade effect that will take place. Democrats like Ireton and those he supports are the reason this state is in such a state. As I said, good interview, he's a clean cut and articulate guy. Perhaps if persons such as yourself would develop a more critical eye and be less impressed by sweet young looks and a "slick tongue" we might be in a different place politically.

good job,Jim. I am glad it was you in that spot instead of Barrie. She would have slurred and made us look foolish
Yeah, and Jim doesn't need a bra either. Pretty nippy out there, eh Jim? LOL

Ignore us at your peril.

was watching CNBC already and was quite surprised to see our mayor on!
he was very professional, a very good reflection on the city
2:31, your threatening tone is one reason i don't join your movement even tho i think many of your points are right.
our new mayor is a breath of fresh air after what we had and could of had
i wish he would say no oftener to the council bumblers who spend spend spend, but i am relieved to see some changes coming.
i hope as he settles in, he will become more bold about making more changes.
About time I felt proud of my town Great job Jim. You represented us well.
Ray
From a Delmar Republician, well done mayor. Nice to see a good representation of the Eastern Shore.
good positive exposure for Salisbury...keep it up
Ireton came off much better than the interviewers. Afterwards, they said Ireton didn't answer the pet chicken question.
Yes, he did. He said things like that were illegal in the municipality.
Glad Ireton switched to matters of substance. The interviewers were too busy being cute.
I have to say, Ireton did a super job. Didn't try to cover up our problems. But you still came away feeling that Salisbury's a nice place.
Wow. Maybe there is hope for us yet!
If BPT were still mayor, no chance CNBC even bothers putting anyone from Salisbury on the tele! They'd skip over to Cambridge or Easton.

Maybe he'll grow into the job of mayor, but no doubt he's a natural being the City's public information officer (PIO).
Good job. I was impressed. I am a little excited too. Maybe things will start to get better around here now.
Say what you will about Joe Albero, but this site has been a very good resource for this area. And it is POSITIVE. (Most of the time (: )
Keep it up Joe. I think the majority are behind you.
Grades on comportment...almost as good as our sheriff.
