Salisbury Police Department Press Releases

On March 30, 2009 at approximately 12:30 pm, Officers of the Salisbury Police Department received a call to respond to the Peninsula Regional Medical Center to meet with the victim of an assault and rape. Upon arrival the officers met with the female victim who advised that she had been assaulted and raped by a subject known to her. The victim advised that she and the suspect, listed below, became involved in an argument the previous night that resulted in the suspect hitting her, choking her and threatening her with a knife. The suspect refused to allow the victim to leave her apartment and raped her. The victim was able to escape from the apartment when the suspect fell asleep. Salisbury Police Detectives located the suspect on Smith Street and took the suspect into custody.

On March 29, 2009 at approximately 11:25 pm, Officers of the Salisbury Police Department received a call to respond to the Royal Farms Convenience Store on North Salisbury Boulevard for the report of a trespasser. Upon arrival the officers observed the below listed suspect trespassing on Royal Farms property after being warned to stay off of the business’ property on a number of previous occasions.

ARRESTED: Taron Lee Roberts, 25 years of age Salisbury, Maryland

CHARGES: Trespassing

On March 30, 2009 at approximately 1:30 pm, Officers of the Salisbury Police arrested the below listed suspect on an arrest warrant charging the suspect with burglary. It was reported to the Salisbury Police in January of 2009 that a residence had been broken into on Bridgeview Street and a quantity of property had been taken. The investigation of the burglary identified the below listed suspect as responsible for the incident.

ARRESTED: Johnny (nmn) George, 19 years of age Salisbury, Maryland

First degree burglary
Third degree burglary
Fourth degree burglary
Theft (under $ 500)
Malicious Destruction of property

DISPOSITION: Released to Central Booking CC # 200900001347

On March 31, 2009 at approximately 2:57 am, Officers of the Salisbury Police were in the area of Smith Street and observed the below listed suspect acting in a suspicious manner. The officers attempted to make contact with the suspect who fled from the area on foot. After a lengthy foot chase, the suspect was apprehended in the area of Goldsboro Street. A routine records check of the suspect revealed that the suspect was wanted on a Maryland Parole Commission Parole Retake Warrant. A search of the suspect, incident to arrest, revealed a quantity of suspected cocaine in his pants pockets.
