Bob Caldwell -- Your Candidate for Mayor
Sir:
Please allow me to discuss misinformation in your recent article about an attempt to induce tenants to vote for Gary Comegys and certain candidates for City Council in the upcoming Salisbury Election. Like Mr. Comegys, I am a candidate for the office of Mayor.
I have not discussed with Councilwoman Campbell a letter written to his tenants by landlord Richard Insley that is mentioned in that article
Thus it is strange (to put it mildly) that the article states "Caldwell [is] said to buy into [Ms.} Campbell's alleged tirade to oust renters from residential neighborhoods." Your anonymous source is incorrect; that assertion is completely untrue.
Please identify the person(s) who "said" that - and explain the "alleged tirade" remark, because I am not aware of it. And I have never suggested, much less supported, prohibiting the rental of homes in single-family neighborhoods. That assertion, besides being untrue, is patently absurd.
In light of his personal interest as a landlord, it's not surprising that Richard Insley is again trying to influence his tenants to do his bidding. He did so two years ago when Mr. Comegys ran for reelection to City Council. This latest letter to his tenants, as usual, falsely portrays Mr. Comegys' opponents, including me. And, it should be noted that Mr. Comegys voted to reappoint Mr. Insley to the City's Housing Board of Adjustments and Appeals upon the request of Mayor Tilghman.
Insley's atempt to drive a wedge between tenants and other residents of Salisbury is truly despicable. It's time for it to stop.

Conversely, it is the vested interest of Comegys to keep the division stirred up between landlords and tenants--how else can he energize the support of SAPOA?
Does anyone know if Richard Insley uses any other name or LLC in his rental business?

Richard Insley and members of SAPOA have to write these letters of coercion to keep their boy in office, without him their cash cow dries up. They will lie, cheat and steal votes to keep him in office. This proves to many of us they are running scared of Caldwell and Ireton.

Thanks for the letter stating what you are not. You held a position in the city in the past. Can you please tell us your accomplishments then and what you plan on doing in the future. Like what are your goals for the city, what steps will you take first. What is your position on the city and county combining services to be more efficent and cost effective. Thanks.
I want to know what Mr. Caldwell will do if elected with Chief Webster of the SPD, Chief See, Dep. Chief Hoppes and Gordy of the SPD. Please give us a commitment and let us know what you plan to do to these indvidual. I will not vote for you or Ireton if you refuse to take a stand on this issue.

Great letter bob and right to the point. You've got our vote and I believe Insley and Sapoa are going to be has beens when Bob gets into the mayors position.
Joe, I just heard Bob Caldwell on Bill Reddish's show. His letter wants them to explain who the source is and what the "alleged tirade" is because he isn't aware of it. Fair enough.
But when Bill Reddish said he'd never know Debbie to have a tirade, Bob Caldwell said it may have happened who knows.
Is Bob Caldwell waffling on his support of Debbie Campbell? Is he distancing himself from her? If so, he has no chance for my vote. I've been on the fence between him and Jim Ireton, but if Caldwell is waffling about Debbie so he can get votes, then I'm off the fence.
