When citizens trust their goverment, guns sales decline. Conversely, when the populus feels lied to and betrayed by their elected officials, people will take personal safety and matters into they own hands. Defense of one's live and property is not a crime; defense of rights and liberties are not crimes.

We make the Swiss look like amateurs.

They have 500K.

We have 20 million and counting.

Excellent post, Joe. I used to know a retired Swiss arms engineer, and he was extremely pro-gun. He said that gun rights were the only thing dying for.

Though the video made some good comments, it must be pointed out that there are considerable social, historical etc.. differences between Switzerland and the U.S, comparing the two nations is unwise. From, personal experience I find that guns give people who might not otherwise commit a crime, or at least a violent crime the confidence to do so. Remember, in a majority of crimes the victim either knows the perpetrator or/and does not have sufficient time to grab a handgun. I am not pro or anti-gun, but remember that firearms can turn a domestic dispute into a crime scene.
