Delmar Christmas Parade Cancelled

Hi Joe,

The Delmar Christmas Parade, sponsored by the Greater Delmar Chamber of Commerce has been CANCELLED.
The forecast is for an 80-90 percent chance of heavy rain during the parade time.
The Chamber will not attempt to do another date for the parade this year.

We know there will be some disappointed people but we just do not have the funds or the resources to keep rescheduling.

Hopefully we can have a great parade in 2010.

We'd appreciate you helping us to get the word out once again.

Thank you,

Diane Johnson
Greater Delmar
Chamber of Commerce

It is a shame for all who have been looking forward to it and all who put funds into building floats, etc.

Sad, but sounds like a good call, from the weather report. The Jaycee parade last week in Salisbury WAS awesome, though. I'm glad our family went, as it turns out.
Has anyone considered a Parade for the Delmar Football CHAMPIONS? There's a good reason for a parade!

It's also ashame for all those who have spent countless hours trying to get this parade to be a go after 3 attempts.
Nobody thinks about the volunteers who put these things together! It's a thankless job I see.
With comments like that, no wonder people don't seem to want to volunteer.
I wish you had thought about how selfish your statement was before you hit the publish your comment button.
Thank you to the Chamber for trying your best to give Delmar the parade this year. Maybe next year will be even more awesome!
