I can't help but to wonder who sold this? It kind of makes me think that somebody got a hold of it that wasn't supposed to-something like internal corruption and then a criminal somehow got the badge or something. It is not a highly respectable thing to do unless it was an old antique or something, but then again a good chief around here is a pretty antiquated thing!
Webster claimed he didn't see the mayor's daughter beating up on Rachel Polk after a council meeting. Witnesses stated under oath that Webster pulled Tilghman off of Polk yet the Chief claimed he didn't see a thing. The Police Chief lied.
Kind of funny how stuff like this turns up. A while ago, 2 or so years, a guy bought a Delmar Police badge at an antique store somewhere in PA. Who knows how old it was.
It should be on ebay. That's how he handles law enforcement. He passes the buck. I was at Walmart last night and I heard so many people saying that they needed to hurry up because it was getting dark outside. People are really afraid. Do something you bald-headed loser or step down NOW!!!
I don't think things like this should be sold, period. This goes to show you how much "pride" some officers really have in their profession and how much "respect" they have for their profession as well. Being a cop certainly doesn't appear to mean what it used to.
They have several Salisbury Maryland Police shoulder patch's for sale on ebay. Why not a badge? But for the record anyone can have a badge made up. Besides I thought they all had numbers on them.
the badge belongs to the city, not the person. When you retire you turn in the badge and you receive a "retired" badge/ whoever sold it is selling stolen goods. Whoever bought it is receiving stolen goods.
I wonder how many drinks it took before it fell out of his pocket, Uh I mean stole it, yeah thats it, it was stolen out of my car while I was at the bar, not in the bar though...ok.
If it is Chief Dykes badge being sold to raise money for charity that is "nice." However with so much crime going on in Salisbury these days it is a bit scary. There are too many "unmarked" looking cars around as it is. Add some lights, a half-ass uniform and the badge and a criminal could have a field day pulling people over at night.
Maybe the "hero" JR is selling something else to prop up his failing enterprises. Remember he did put his life on the to save a deputy, or so the saying goes.
It's incredibly hard to believe that the Dykes family would part with Coulbourn's Chief's Badge for any reason whatsoever. That Badge and what it represented meant everything to Chief Dykes.
Joe, I don't want to debate this issue with you because I too am aware that things aren't always done as they should be and this may be the case here.
E-bay assured me that they do not allow active badges to be sold and offered this guideline as proof.
E-bay has no record of this sale and assured me if they find something other that the Seller as well as the Buyer will be prohibited from doing business on E-bay in the future.

anonymous 12:11, I don't know why you choose to continue challenging me on this. First of all, I am not a liar. The badge was purchased on Ebay and that's all there is to it.
Now, why Ebay chooses to make the alleged statements you have provided and have a one on one chat with you on it, (as you seem to relay here) is beyond me but what gets me the most is your obsession overan older post.
Unless you're the Police Chief himself, get over it.
Damn Joe.. Looking again for something on Chief Webster.. How about you step up and try to do something instead of hiding behind your special BLOG!! You could be mayor, chief, etc. What can't do a real job? You can still take pictures and show up just like other city officials. Do something in your life..

It's just part of the effort to raise money to buy a Police Boat. With such an expensive Fire Boat on the way, SPD needs to provide river patrols.
Now that's funny. I wonder if Rachel Polk reads your blog.
Webster would sell his own mothers ashes.
why would someone even search for that? weird...and creepy.
Chief Joe
11:35...for history collections. Not weird or creepy at all.
I want one. How much was it????

Webster is a sell out anyway. He would and has sold out his own officers at the PD. This guy is really a bad character.

Looks like a story there? Elaborate please.
Webster, himself, probably sold it. What does he need it for, he doesn't dress nor act like a police chief anyway.
Webster claimed he didn't see the mayor's daughter beating up on Rachel Polk after a council meeting. Witnesses stated under oath that Webster pulled Tilghman off of Polk yet the Chief claimed he didn't see a thing. The Police Chief lied.

Look out SPD Quartermaster. I feel an internal affairs investigation coming.
Did Chief Turnip Head sell his badge on the Interwebs??

E-Bay sure has gone down hill.
I never shop there too many scams.

You can order badges without being a cop. Its not wrong to have the badge. I bet I can get one that looks just like this.
No worries folks rumor has it that LT Leatherbery will be the new chief and it will happen this year.
2:43...you SPD insider...or friend of Jimbo's?
D. None of the above.
I wonder how many drinks it took before it fell out of his pocket, Uh I mean stole it, yeah thats it, it was stolen out of my car while I was at the bar, not in the bar though...ok.
It was a gold badge presented to Cheif Dykes. It was donated/sold by his family to raise money for a local charity. Please report the truth.

You can bet your sweet a$$ nobody in Chief Dyke's family, or anybody associated with him, sold any badge of any sort.
FURTHERMORE - Ebay does not sell active badges - it is against their policy.
I think it's all BULL$HIT!
Don't bring Chief Dykes into this - his memory and legacy desere better.
RIP Chief Dykes
anonymous 8:20, I can assure you, this Badge was sold on Ebay.
