States Attorney Davis Ruark Means Business

When asked how he will handle the murderers of Anitra Pirkle, States Attorney Davis Ruark said:

"I'm asking for Life Without Parole plus the maximum for each crime for which the defendant can be sentenced."

One down, two to go.

Why not the death penalty? These people don't deserve to live!

He can only ask; Let's see what is given by the judge.

I would hope Mr. Ruark would ask that the sentencing on all charges run consecutively as opposed to concurrently.

Let that bastard rot in prison for the rest of his natural life.

Why isn't he asking for the death penalty? I can't think of a better defendant(s) that should be sentenced to death. Why should the tax payers continue to pay for his room and board until he dies???

He's 16 years old.

Thats a good question. Is it because the defendents are minorities?Well what about Anitra? She was a minority too and this is a "hate crime" if I ever saw one.The male thug was underage but lets send the two females to the death chamber.Prison will not rehabilate them, hell the big girl looks like shes already the cell block homecoming "king".

12:23 they are hard core murderers regardless of age!!!! You know what life in prison is?....its wide screen tv, hot meals, basketball, gym, free meds, free medical -xrays, hospital etc, microwave, free lawyers, library, college, and the list goes on and on and on. And this is on your tax money. Its a palace to many.I say an eye for an eye and save the taxpayers money!! We treat them better and give them more than we do our elderly in nursing homes. I'm for the death penalty and use that extra money on the aging population that has worked all their life and gets nothing in the end.

Who cares. He made a choice to take an innocent life. He should pay the ultimate price. Until we start putting these murderers in the dirt, the killing will only escalate.

Would be nice to see Ruark take this agressive approach towards every case. Too many slaps on the wrists for REPEAT offenders in this town.

How about it now???

I say (and I feel you may agree) that all prisoners (m/f) should be automatically be put in the military. Not as a cook or a cpu. spec. but 1st infantry. I mean why are we sending innocent people to fight in wars when there are people who have double life watching The View. I bet the jails wouldn't be cluttered and It would be less crime on the streets because people don't want to go to war. If you want to kill and show how much of "gangsta" you are thats your perfect chance. That's right on the money. 22 yr. old b/m

Why was he not sentenced now? Is there a pre-sentence investigation going on? What role does he now play in the next two cases?(witness),(defendant again) I must be missing something.

We need to start electing lawmakers, executives, and judges that are tough on crime. Until we start doing that, the mayhem will continue. We are seeing the results our liberal philosophies toward these young punks. "They're just kids", "They're victims of society", "They can't help it"

It does not matter that he is 16. He was charged and convicted as an adult. This scumbag has an extensive violent criminal history already. He's not worth the air he breates.

All prisons should be hard labor work camps.

1:11 I couldn't agree more. No more sitting on your behind getting free meals, housing and health care. If they want to eat, sleep in a bed and see a doctor they MUST work.
Does Maryland even have the death penalty? I didn't think they did. I thought that is why they let Virginia handle the 2 beltway snipers.

Maryland's Death Penalty is now restricted to first degree murder cases with DNA evidence and/or with video taped or audio taped voluntary confessions. I don't know all the facts of this case but it might not apply. Plus with death row cases there are endless appeals and a safer bet might be to ask for life without parole.

Oh I absoluely agree with 1:03 PM. Put them in the infantry, send them to afghanistan and let them be a gangsta there. Then when it's time for them to get out, extend their time for another 50 years. Gpod place for them.

Not that I'm a staunch death penalty opponent, but given the legal costs of fighting a death penalty case appeal, studies have shown it's actually most cost-efficient to sentence defendants to life in prison.

So if cost is your overriding concern, you might want to re-think your position or at least your motivation.

I don't care he is 16 or ifhe is white pink or purple. This young woman isn't able to enjoy her life anymore nor her family able to have her at home any more because he & two other made the CHOICE to take her life. F&%ck his rights and let him be an example we are taking the streets back and this will not be tolerated now or ever and you will pay for your crime. Choices, everyone has them and it is up to you to know the difference of the right one or the wrong one.

I don't want them fighting for my Country, let em die

That's right eye for an eye to the SOB's! I'm sick of these Salisbury gangsters! Their even in elementary schools. I teach them......and they are GANGSTERS! I did not know Anitra, but she did not deserve to die! DEATH PENALTY.....I'm a tax payer and they do not deserve 3 meals a day, tv, cards, a freakin library, and whatever else they get!

The ACLU is watching this case.

Please do tell why the ACLU has ANY business interfering in or "watching" this case? Alvira deserves to be drawn and quartered for what he did so he is getting off damn lucky with life in prison.I am so sick of hearing how these offenders are "just kids" or "had a hard life" they are THUGS-period.
To the Pirkle family,God is on your side! These people will pay for what they did!
