Mark Thompson Becomes New WCBOE President

During a reorganization Tuesday night, Mark Thompson became the new President of the Wicomico Board of Education while Michelle Wright became the new V.P..

Robin Holloway chose to not run for President another term, therefore opening the position, yet she'll remain on the Board.

As we have stated in the past, Robin ran a tight ship and some of the best meetings Salisbury News has ever attended, she'll be missed.

Mark Thompson is well known throughout the community and we look forward to working with Mark in the future.

Kudos to Ms. Holloway for diligent service and leadership during a difficuly period. The elected County officials have been a continual burden and disappointment since the last election.

Mark Thompson has been involved in this community and with youth programs for many years now prior to becoming a member of WCBOE. I am sure he will make a mistake or two along the way (as we all have at some point), I am confident he will do what he believes is best for the school system in Wicomico County. Let's give him a chance and not just bash him right off the bat, throwing around empty insults with nothing to back them up.

Mark Thompson has been a great role model and mentor to youth of all ages in this community. (otherwise he would not have been appointed - not elected by the governor). It is not only his calling from God to be a Minister preaching the word of God but he is demonstrating true outreach ministry in the community. I just ask the community to pray for him as he is being lead in this new position.

11:25 -I heard Rev Thompson give a prayer at Wor Wic's graduation a few years ago. He definitely did not know the difference between church and state. His "calling to preach the word of God" will get him in trouble if he isn't careful. He turned off a lot of people that day.

Mr. Thompson is involved in so much. He will never have the time to dedicate to the Board like Mrs. Holloway.Thank you Mrs. Holloway for you great leadership. Keep a close eye on him. The Board will get things past him like they could never Mrs. Holloway. This is not good. Keep an eye on them Joe it's all about the publicity for the new Pres and Vice Pres. No backbone to stand their ground
