Food for thought.
Whether there is health care reform under or Obama or not, the reality is the expense of the current health care system will seem like euthanasia when doctors decide who can afford measures to live or die. Not everyone can afford measures now to keep their loved ones alive and as the population ages, this will be more the reality. You will learn to accept a long life, but not a prolonged life, no matter what you call it.

i have to say that I totally disagree with 12:27. However Obama himself said that the elderly may have to be put in hospices near the end . Does this mean no more treatment for Ted Kennedy, I doubt it . This is just another case of do as I say, not as I do. People of all political parties we have to defeat this.. A relative of mine was recently diagnosed with terminal cancer. He went to a cancer treatment center in Oklahoma and is now almost cancaer free. Under this system he would have beeen sent home to die. WE DO NOT NEED THIS.

First of all I am not promoting this Obama plan but alot fo the critics of it keep saying "people will die".News flash-people are dying NOW.If your friend either did not have good insurance or the money to pay for treatment in OK he may very well not be here right now.People with marginal or no coverage,no money and too many assets to qualify for Medicaid are pretty much on their own.Thats why we need reform.
Socialized medicine always fails because no government can control nor support the costs. Universal health insurance always fails because no government can control nor support the costs. Under both systems over time the availabillity of services declines because no government can control nor support the costs.
And 12:27 is insane.
Put congress on the same health plans we have and let them try and reform from there and stop trying to reinvent the wheel.
Tim Chaney, better to go the direction John Kerry wanted, that all Americans have the kind of health insurance Congress does.
Obama is having his revenge for his mother's death. It seems she died of cancer and was not given the top shelf treatment...possibly prolonging her life.
