Recently Wicomico County has experienced a rise in daytime burglary. The Wicomico Bureau of Investigation, Maryland State Police and Wicomico Sheriff’s Office would like to ask for the public’s assistance. Many citizens have left their homes for the day only to return at the end of the day to find their home broken into.
We ask that the citizens of Wicomico County learn the vehicles and identity of the people that live in around their homes and neighborhoods. If suspicious people or vehicles are noted you are asked to call either the Maryland State Police or the Wicomico Sheriff’s Office. Remember to note as many things as you can about the suspicious person or vehicle to include tag numbers.

Is this isolated to one area or is it county wide? Where do we need to look?
idea for all of you... get a pit bull, train him/her to be a well mannered inside house guest, and then when he/she is old enough, leave the dog in the house all day long, you will never have a break in again

How are we supposed to know the identities of the people living around us if they're college kids who move in and out each semester and they let their friends hang out for months at a time and the City won't do anything about this transient tenancy even though the four to two law says these people renting single homes can't have temporary or transient relationships? Oh that's right, Paul Wilbur's version of the four to two law was written for the landlords. Nevermind.
The Nanticoke area has been hit several times lately , they have some people of interest in mind.
Maybe they are waiting for one of them to turn 18(very shortly)

I spoke to a relative earlier today. She said her neighbor's house was broken into. She lives in Ocean Pines. The man knocked on her door and when he went to it, he asked her if she knew so and so...what the guys were doing was checking to see if anyone was home, and if nobody answered, they broke in and took jewelry and cash. They are white men and she saw the vehicle, it was a silver SUV.
Another good home protection dog breed is a Cane Corsa(sp?) (Google it!)I know someone who has one and he is a gentle giant and well-trained but if you invaded his home or attcked his handler,look out!
Out of control Crime spreads as fast as out of control Cancer. Pretty soon it won't matter were it started, it'll be all over.

yeah, but pitbull is one. good lord. my dog will not eat me, my dog is trained right. idiot owners may have badly trained ones, but not good owners.
hey there's been a few robberies out toward the hebron/ athol areas. my brother's house was one of them. they're 95% sure who it is but the police can't do anything b/c their description of the vehicle wasn't accurate enough. be on the look out for a black explorer with tinted rear windows and expired tags from 07. the person who did it lives in hebron and just got out of jail for stealing.
With the school year ending today, children will be home alone in some cases. PLEASE tell your children to keep the doors locked at all times and not open the door for a stranger for any reason. With people breaking in houses all over the place the last thing I want to read about is a child being home when someone breaks in.
Also train your kids to call the police if someone tries to come in after they don't answer the door. These guys knock on doors to see if you are home, just in case. You don't answer and in they come. It appears most of the houses are ones in rural areas. I wrote in about a bunch in the Hebron/Sharptown/Mardela area. Yesterday's reports had burglaries in Parsonsburg. Maybe they are moving to another area? Check out the daily call reports for the Sheriff's department. Also keep in mind that some of these have been handled by state police as well. It is bad.

Get an alarm system... it will call the cops for you.
Several of the people who were burglarized(including one of my friends) did have an alarm system. It just meant the burglar had to rip the flat screen tv out of the wall instead of taking the time to carefully remove it. Look at the locations of the burglaries-the thieves know it will take some time for the police to respond. An alarm is not a deterrent, it just makes them work faster.
AHHHHHHH!!Another quiet day on the eastern shore. Come kick back and relax and enjoy our high quality of life while your home gets burglarized. Crime ridden, this entire area needs a cleansing.
BTW Wicomico county is pretty big, it would help if we could narrow down specific areas that have been recent targets.
That Utah car was in my neighborhood today and I got the tag numbers and called the Sheriff!
