TWO INDIVIDUALS STABBED IN DOWNTOWN PARKING LOT

On June 8, 2009, just before midnight, Ocean City Police officers where informed by a
citizen that a fight was in progress in a parking lot on 7 Atlantic Avenue. As officers approached the area of the fight they learned that two individuals had been stabbed and the suspect had fled on foot.

The suspect, who was later identified as Randy Lopez-Medina, 23, from Grasonville,
Maryland, was able to elude officers after a foot pursuit. OCPD officers, with the
assistance from Maryland State Police, sent out a broadcast of the suspect and were
eventually able to locate Lopez-Medina in the area of 7th Street and the Boardwalk.
The two victims were treated by Ocean City EMS and transported to the hospital. One
victim received a slash wound across his upper back and a large wound to his left
shoulder. The second victim suffered stab wounds to his chest possibly puncturing his
lung.

At the time of this press release, Lopez-Medina was awaiting an initial appearance
with an Ocean City District Court Commissioner.

TWO MEN ARRESTED FOR DRUG AND WEAPON VIOLATIONS
On June 6, 2009, at approximately 11:50 p.m., Ocean City Police Narcotics Detectives
were conducting buy/bust operation on the Ocean City boardwalk. During the operation, detectives met two individuals on the boardwalk, later identified as Rolando Rodrigo O’Haran, Jr. and Joel Shawn Mitchell, who are both 23-years-old, of
Mechanicsville, MD. At some point during the investigation, both suspects agreed to sell the undercover detectives an amount of Marijuana.

The two subjects led detectives to a car parked on 10th Street, just off the boardwalk.

During the encounter, OCPD detectives were able to make a purchase of Marijuana from
the subjects at their vehicle. OCPD Detectives subsequently stopped the car in the area of 17th Street and Baltimore Avenue. Both Mitchell and O’Haran were placed under arrest for drug violations. A Search of the vehicle recovered a fully loaded .380 handgun, a second loaded magazine, and several rounds of ammunition. Marijuana was located in the vehicle.

O’Haran was found to be carrying fix blade fighting knife. Both suspects were charged with drug violations and handgun charges, including Possessing a Firearm During a Drug Trafficking Crime. The vehicle and $118.00 U.S. Currency was seized.

Both Mitchell and O’Haran were seen by an Ocean City District Court Commissioner.
O’Haran was released after posting a $15,000 bond. Mitchell was released after posting a $25,000 bond.

OCPD ARRESTS THREE PERSONS FOR PROSTITUTION

On June 7, 2009 at approximately 1:36 A.M., Ocean City Police Detectives responded to
the 49th Street area after receiving citizen complaints that someone was soliciting citizens for prostitution.

OCPD Detectives located a blue colored Dodge van with several persons around it,
parked in a parking lot on 49th Street. Undercover OCPD Detectives moved toward the
area near the van and were approached by a male subject soliciting prostitutes.
Detectives engaged in a conversation with the male subject and two female subjects.
The male was later identified as: Maurice Lawrence Monroe – 30 years old, of Temple Hills, Maryland. The two females in Monroe’s company were identified as: Essence Ethel Marie Scott – 22 of Falls Church, Virginia and Janita Ellison – 38 years old, of Temple Hills, Maryland.

Monroe negotiated with Detectives to exchange money for sex with the two females.
Police placed all three persons under arrest for Prostitution related charges. A vehicle and $310.00 U.S. Currency was seized in this case. Additionally, a small amount of Marijuana was located inside of the vehicle and Monroe was also charged with CDS Possession (Marijuana).

All three suspects were taken before an Ocean City District Court Commissioner and were released on their own recognizance.

16 PEOPLE ARRESTED AFTER MULITPLE FIGHTS ON THE BOARDWALK

On June 7, 2009, at approximately 10:20 p.m., Ocean City Police responded to #9 Worcester Street in reference to a fight that had occurred in the under 21 night club, “H2O”, and was now outside on the street.

Officers arrived in the area and observed two females, later identified as Tanee Donyale Dudley, 18, of Dover, DE and a 17-year-old female, also of Dover, DE, involved in a loud argument which was beginning to escalate into a fight. Officers subsequently arrested both females for Disorderly Conduct.

Police also arrested two additional 18-year-old females who were involved in the original argument and fight. The two females have been identified as Jasmine Loshae Waters and Makia Shaute Sturgis-Davis, also of Dover, DE.

Due to the large crowd of persons patronizing “H2O”, an OCPD officer remained in the area throughout the evening. At midnight, the under age night club began to close for the evening and a large number of exiting patrons relocated to the boardwalk in the area of Worcester Street.

At approximately 1:30 a.m. a fight broke out on the north side of Worcester Street and the Boardwalk. OCPD officers immediately dissolved the altercation and made several arrests. However, additional persons, unrelated to this altercation, began to fight as well. Officers made a total of six arrests. The following persons were arrested:

- Juvenile Male – 17 years old, of Salisbury, Maryland: Disorderly Conduct,
Resisting/Interfere with Arrest

- Juvenile Male – 17 years old, of Delmar, Maryland: Disorderly Conduct
- Lemarvis Kiont Trotter – 22 years old, Delmar, Delaware: Disorderly Conduct, Poss CDS

- Roger Lee Savage – 18 years old, of Parksley, Virginia: Disorderly Conduct,
Resisting/Interfere with Arrest

- Felix Octavius Weeks, Jr. – 18 years old, of Preston, Maryland: Disorderly Conduct

- William Harrison Wilson – 18 years old, of Temperanceville, Virginia: Affray
