Saturday, May 9th is the Wicomico County Landfill's Tire Disposal Amnesty Day. Drag your old tires to the landfill on Brick Kiln Road and they'll take them for free, instead of charging the normal recycling fee. The landfill will accept old tires from consumers (no businesses, please) from 7:00 a.m. until 3:00 p.m. Ten tire limit from each donor.
Worcester County will be doing the same thing from 7:00 a.m. until 2:00 p.m. at the Central Landfill on Timmons Road, off Route 113, just outside of Snow Hill.
As we said in an earlier post, old tires kept outdoors are places where water collects and mosquitoes breed. Eliminating the breeding spots means fewer mosquitoes.

Is this only open to residents of Wicomico county?
Yes,it is only for Wicomico County residents at the Wicomico County Landfill, just as the Worcester landfill's is for Worcester County residents.
