yeah because hitting your kids is real good parenting. the genius who wrote this probably has 2 idiot kids in the military who have all the discipline they need to murder people in LDCs.
simply because an individual lacks the knowledge of something does not mean it doesn't exist.
Drugs and their problems have been around for centuries. Your rose colored nostalgia of the 50s doesn't prove that there weren't drug problems in the past.
Just that the information wasn't as readily available or common knowledge.
You all are unbelieveable. There is nothing wrong with spanking your kids. Abusing them, beating them, screaming and hollering constantly, yes that is all wrong. But a good old fashioned spanking is the best thing you could ever to for them. If you do it when they are little kids, you won't have so much bad behavior from them when they are teens. If all their friends are getting ready to smoke cigarette, and your kids know you paint the barn door red, they will not do it. Trust me. I behave my 33 year old self today because I sincerely believe if I don't my father will come to my house and turn me over his knee. or at least try, because I can outrun him now.lol
I'm 50 years old and I read crap like this and wonder who the genius is belching out this cornpone, cracker barrel nonsense? There have been drug problems in society since forever. There is no "magic time" in the good old days when we had no alcoholics or drug addicts. The "concerned citizen" has a pretty poor grasp of history.
I knew if I messed up my mom would literally kick my butt-in front of the neighbors, even when her 4'11" was topped by me in the sixth grade. No one's denying there were drugs and alcohol in the 50s and there were abusers, but they were not acceptable in society. Granted the alcoholics were your dad or grandpa but they got drunk and when they were young-beat your mom up, if you woke up, they beat you, when they were old-they fell asleep wherever they landed. It's that back then, it was ok to set your kid straight and more people were involved in your upbringing. Nowadays you see some kid being bad, and it's up to the parents to correct the situation-and now the parents aren't participating. Too many kids learn off the most convenient babysitter, the TV- which has gotten more sexually explicit and violent since the days I had only 3 channels to pick from.
