As most of you have become aware, I have received many death threats over the past few years. Most of them you have never seen but ALL of them have been forwarded to States Attorney Davis Ruark and Sheriff Mike Lewis.
I got into that practice with them mainly because I wanted them to look at them and decide if they felt they were ones in which I should be truly concerned about. Earls Sister is right, there have been threats to me personally as well as my Family.
That being said, yesterday I received a very welcomed phone call from a Special Agent with the Federal Government. I'll just leave it at that. The cool part is, they assure me that there's no doubt they can provide each and every person who sent in these threats and will simply hand deliver me their names and locations.
Ladies & Gentlemen, this is no joke. I was completely amazed at what they can do but clearly you have to know the right people to get something like this done. That being said, I have been truly Blessed by the individual who knew this person and reached out for help.
I have actually been hesitant to follow through with this because quite frankly I don't think it's just one or two people and quite honestly, I don't think they mean what they have said. Then there's the other side of me that thinks, what if it came from the Mayor's Office or the SPD? Man, what I wouldn't do to nail those two SOB's!
So as I ponder over what I want to do, I thought I'd share this information with ALL of you and IF any one of you is stupid enough to ever do something like this again, you have been warned. If I ever receive another death threat I am going to go to this contact and find out exactly who you are. You will then be prosecuted and throw in Jail for a very long time.
In the mean time, I'll let you know what I decide to do on the other threats very soon.

Joe,I think a good thing to do is to take all those threats that you now have and turn them over to the Feds...then if anything happens to you that's who they start with...even if the treats stop now.
First Amendment "free speech" rights, like real property rights, are comparable to "a bundle of sticks." Some of the sticks in the pile give you benefits of the bargain {a voice/vote to appropriately advocate for political change at the polling place//an asset that appreciates or can be used to generate rent money}. However, some of the sticks in the bundle require you to assume some responsibility/consequences of the bargain too {you can't just shout 'fire' in a crowded movie theater/make violent death threats [this is tantamount to domestic terrorism]//you must also pay taxes and maintenance expenses on the real property too so it doesn't eventually become an eyesore that depreciates your neighbors property values}. For those who profess to know what our Constitutional framers were trying to say-you must first at least wrap your heads around these basic concepts first.
Joe, make that call, for your own peace of mind, and those of us that are concerned for the safety of you and your family, please make that call. I have seen these threats, you know that. I have called you on your phone while you were out with your wife because one of the threats put me in fear for your lives, you know this too. I know you and I know what your reaction would be should anything ever happen to Jennifer or Gavin. It's not worth waiting to see if these people will follow through. Stop them now.
It's better to know your adversaries than not know. There are many that smile in your face while twisting the knife in your back. Get the information and proceed with whatever steps are necessary to put an end to this. If only one person suffers the consequences for their actions it will send a clear message to the rest of the cowards that would make vile threats against you and your family. Anyone that stoops so low to threaten an 8 year old is not entitled to a break or compassion. Put a stop to this madness now. PLEASE.
There are 100 reasons why you should prosecute. The most important being you and yours...
Do what you do best Joe, shine the light on that dirt! Expose them and those around them...
Do what you do and POST THE LIST.
Protect you and your family. Turn over everything to the feds and let them do their job. If it turns out to be one or both of those two then we will ALL know for sure you are right on EVERYTHING.

If it were mine, I'd send the message to all of them in no uncertain terms, divulging their identities and threats to the public, and utilizing the protections the laws provide. It's no different than dealing with schoolyard bullies; they need to be exposed for what they are. Once they know, they can look for help.
Joe ..Make the call!! These jerks knew what they were doing when they made the threats ..they knew that it was illegal and they knew what the consequences were when they made the threats! I know what Id do if someone threaten my life or my families lives..Thats not something you take lightly..or as a joke. It doesn't matter if they were trying to "scare" you or not! They need to be exposed and held accountable for there actions! You have to protect yourself and your family..Thats your Job as a Husband,Father & Grandfather! MAKE THE CALL!

It is a known fact that people who threaten suicide eventually succeed. I am sure the same stands for many who threatened someones life.

I just think it's funny how these hillbillys thought that hiding behind anonymous would insulate them. I bet none of the threats came from anyone worth a damn in law enforcement because they know that these messages if need be can be traced back to an individual IP address. Ask most of your haters waht an IP address is and they'll guide you to a bathroom.

Turn their butts in, Joe! Post their names on this blog and expose them for the cowards that they really are! Prosecute to the fullest extent of the law and let them be "Bubba Bait" in prison. I don't know you personally but feel that: No one has the right to threaten you, or your family, whether they intend to follow thru or not. Isn't that terrorism? No one should be able to threaten anyone without consequences. If you don't stop them they may feel this behavior is ok and will probably go on to threaten more people they don't like or don't agree with. Why let them off? Others may not/do not have the resources to stop them, so please use those precious resources! You will be helping more than just your family.

Joe, the least you could do is persue this so we can get the names and there locations (read Jobs) where they posted these threats. Please do us all a favor and go through with it.

I'm skeptical of all this because, why would you not turn over all the threats immediately? What possible justification is there for not turning over all information? I'm also not quite sure that the feds would simply turn over this list. I believe that if they got the names it would than be there duty to prosecute these individules.
If the names, once known, and comments aren't published, only suspicion will remain in the minds of your readers, and some who don't deserve it will be included in the mental list of perps. We might think M**e D**n, J**n R******n, B****e T******n, K* T******n, L***n C******t, D****e C*****s, e*c, even though they may not be the ones. And wouldn't that just be a shame!

Joe, no matter what, publish the names. Do you think that they deserve any kind of "sympathy" from you. I know how hard it is to be the one to put someone away, I know how hard it is to ruin someones life. Hey Joe, do you think that not telling will protect you? or anyone in your family? Is that blackmail Joe? They would harass you for the rest of your life. Should you live like that? NEVER this is America, people who threaten a person or their family can be put in jail. Or have a protective order against them, or many other solutions. The one that you offer, is not an option. The safety of You and Jen and your grandson is not an option.

I lived in Salisbury for years up until this past November. Glad I don't live there anymore.
To those of you challenging me on this Post and claiming there are all sorts of holes in my story, time will tell.
First of all, as I have stated in the past and even in this Post, I have NOT posted 95% of the serious death threats. I have in fact forwarded them to the authorities and not one thing has been done about any of them. Yes, some have been mild, like to one I posted yesterday. However, many have been extremely serious and quite frankly I'm a bit surprised nothing came of them. My peace of mind in that was simply that the people I sent themj to have a good feel for what is serious and what is not. I do trust their opinion and so far, (thank God) they have been right. That doesn't mean their threats weren't serious ones and illagal.
I know the difference between a statement and a threat and trust me, every single one of them that I forwarded was in fact a threat.
As for the legalities of someone turning over the iformation to me directly. They will be on their own time, not on the clock. They will come to my property and examine MY computers.
It just kills you guys to know that I have someone on the right side of the law that is now investigating YOU! I don't give a crap if it's legal or not. We're going to get to the bottom of who's doing it and then we're going to consider exposing every one of their names.
I am very fortunate to have someone on the right side of the law looking out for me and my Family. In the end, SUE ME. I doubt very seriously you'll win and quite frankly after I see where they're coming from I'll know what to do from there. Like Earl's Sister said, I'll at least have the names safely stored.
Joe, You don't have to explain anything to anyone concerning the person willing to do the forensics on your computer. What you do need to do is get the job done and take it from there.
I will say I don't think you should post the list of names for anyone to see UNTIL the proper authorities have taken the proper steps. Why ruin what could be a perfectly good case? To be honest, if it were me, I would have never let them know I had someone working on this, I'd just hit them hard with arrest warrants. SURPRISE!!!!!

Can you ask for the identities of the people who have made these threats and then decide what you will do? Consider getting all the information before you determine your actions. What or who says you can't select specific threats to pursue? You may be surprised at the sources. Then again, you may not.
Let it be known... there is no death threats crime in maryland, unbelievably!! i take reports all the time for people that have their life threatened and we tell them the same thing everytime... sorry but maryland does not have a threats law so anyone can threaten you anytime! now, if you specifically say your going to burn down someones house or blow them up, thats different but it requires the wording to be exactly that. those are the facts and dont take my word, look it up.

Just remember, "it won't be murder since they knew who they were going after". Seriously, there are gangs in Salisbury, you know it well, and they are completely capable of killing. Whoever it is, know who it is. "Keep your friends close; your enemies closer".
If in Maryland, there is no crime unless there is a federal law that covers it. Joe does live in DE, so if, as in an identity theft, the victim can use his place of residence as the location of the crime, there are laws. Delaware has several laws including Terroristic Threatening (my favorite)
The people threatening Joe are using the Internet.
That makes it a federal crime.
The FBI even has a specific division for handling cybercrime and cyberstalking.
I know, because I've had to use them before.
The people who have been doing this to Joe better start wetting their pants and looking over their shoulders.
I won't give any hint as to how long it takes the FBI to follow up on this. You b*****ds out there can just wonder.

They apparently have never watched "Law & Order" if they did not know any better.....Its really messed up that people would make death threats over something simple as a primary election in a small city.Imagine the embarassment if any of the threats came from government employees.
I don't know if he or anyone acting under his direction did any of this, but I have personally been told by Joe's favorite shoot-em-up clock, watch & jewelry business owner that he wishes someone would put a bullet between Joe's eyes and he would not feel the least bit bad about it.
Get the list and publish the names on this blog, Joe. Expose these people for who they really are. Don't you want to know if someone who's making nice with you in person is really two-faced? Find out who you need to protect your family from and EXPOSE them. No mercy for cowards who make threats on the life of an innocent child. I'd be willing to go after them myself!
