Location of Incident: Nemours Clinic- 252 Chapman Road, Newark, Delaware, New Castle County
Date and Time of Occurrence: Monday, March 2, 2009, between 2:52 p.m. to 6:51 p.m.
Suspect(s): Black male, 28 – 34 years old, 6’00” to 6’02” tall, 175 to 185 pounds, average build, medium brown skin tone, wearing a yellow jacket, tan sport coat, white Nike Sneakers and black gloves
Resume: Detectives from the Troop 2 Burglary Squad are investigating an incident which took place on Monday afternoon at the Nemours Clinic on Chapman Road.
In this incident, a male suspect entered the office, which was open and operational, and roamed freely about the business. Because of heavy snow fall this day, only a few employees were at work and no patients were present. Investigators noted the suspect was confronted by the employees, however, the suspect played off his being in the office saying he was lost.
The suspect was captured on surveillance video as he removed three lap top computers valued at approximately $3,000.00. With the property in hand, the suspect fled the business in an unknown direction. It was noted that during the caper, the suspect changed his clothes in an attempt to conceal his identity.
No patient information was compromised in this incident.
