A Comment About The Daily Times Worthy Of A Post

"Tighlman went downhill from day one.

The Times wrote: "In her first days in office, she dismissed an iconic police chief whom she believed to be corrupt."

This is total slander against a dedicated public servant.

Colburn Dykes was never indicted or convicted of any crime.

If the Times had any journalistic standards it would have asked Tighlman to put up her proof or shut up.

How much money did she cost the city settling the chief's lawsuit?

And it was all downhill from there."

Now how can you argue that comment. The Daily Times bashes the Nasty Bloggers regularly but grows a pair when they know the person is dead and can't do anything about it.

Your Statement clearly reads, "she dismissed an iconic police chief whom she believed to be corrupt."

They wrote about what she did! They did not write " She dismissed a police chief who was corrupt!

Big difference buddy!

Joe:

It's time to turn the spotlight on Comegys -- Barrie is now history/toast -- and he is really trying to posture himself away from her shadow.

We can't let the term "FOB" mean "friend of Bubba" and must see that he does not win in next year's mayoral election.

I believe his wife could do
something about it.She is a good
person and most likely wouldn't
persue it.

Happy Hour you need to have another drink 'cause you have no idea what the f@ck you're talking about. Dykes was the best Chief Salisbury had. Look around Buddy, the city's a mess, the cops are inept, the boss is a jerk who gets no respect. Should we go on. You're probably one of the jerks he got of.

You make no sense!! He might have been the best Chief the city had, (According to you), but my comment only states that the DT was quoting the mayor as calling him corrupt not the DT saying he was corrupt.

You need the drink man, calm down and use that rage for something that makes more sense!

Hey, stop shining our knobs with semantics and giving the real, relaxing act of "Happy Hour" a bad name. Dykes was a cool dude on many levels, and I don't remember SU students/soccer moms getting jacked with pistols every other night while he "had the con."

You all have personality disorders.LOL

She dismissed a police chief that saw through her, and knew she was incapable of the job!! She felt threatened. Then she hired what's his name ?? Boy I sure would have liked to see that resume !!

Let's just say it all in one sentence. Barrie Parsons Tilghman got rid of EVERYONE she could not control. Look at the list of department heads and tell me who is still around since her first election. NO ONE! Even her flunkies started bailing out on her in the past 2 years. Keep and eye on SAPOA.

It's not slander if it's written. Try again moron. The word is libel. Another uninformed reader of this blog it appears.

Colburn might have had a few skeletons in his closet, but he was one of the best police chiefs this city had. Chief Baldy is a reject from Baltimore County and should never have been hired. She was on a vendetta to clean house and she started with the police department.

One more time Anon 11:47

They wrote what the Mayor's opinion of him was, not what their opinion was! Who is the uninformed reader?

In a nutshell the DT sucks and so does Barry Hoover

It would be like the slob to draw attention to herslef to keep Gary in the closet a long as she can

Chief Dykes was dismissed because he wouldnt "play ball", and he did not answer to anyones special interest when it came to protecting and serving his city. I lived in Salisbury during his tenure and after, and believe me, the streets were safer when he was at the helm of SPD. Anyone can say what they want about him, but the fact remains he was a damn fine Chief,he was always seen IN uniform-not suits-and criminals feared him, rightfully so.
