SOCIALISM SPREADS
1,600 days ago, I sent out a massive email warning people about the advent of Socialism here in the US. It was exactly 4 years, 4 months, 16 days ago that I fired off the initial warning shot via email.
Socialism warnings in the US and in particular, Maryland, were as far back though as 1984.
It wasn't enough to have our State's Home Football Team, the Baltimore Colts, move to Indianapolis. Most people don't even know what caused the owner, Robert Irsay, to make the midnight move because the internet audience had not yet fully developed.
Here is an excerpt from his obituary, posted in the Indianapolis Star, January 15, 1997;
"Irsay moved the Colts to Indianapolis one day after the Maryland Legislature passed a law allowing the city of Baltimore to take over the franchise by eminent domain.
Fifteen Mayflower vans loaded with all of the team's possessions began moving out of the Colts' office and training facility in Owings Mills, Md., shortly after midnight because it was feared the franchise would be seized after daybreak. "They not only threw down the gauntlet, but they put a gun to his head and cocked it and asked, `Want to see if it's loaded?' Michael Chernoff, the team's general counsel, said after the move. "They forced him to make a decision that day."
Then, our State Legislature was at it once again, trying to Socialize an entire private industry and or future industries . . . . (Wal-Mart). . through Maryland’s Proposed Fair Share Health Act.
Take a look at what has transpired at the Federal level. Your government has now taken a controlling interest in Bear Stearns, Fanny Mae, Freddy Mac, AIG, Goldman Sachs, Morgan Stanley, and Lehman Brothers. Within the next few weeks it will be a bailout for GM, Ford, and Chrysler.
A Government that owns its Country’s largest enterprises is Communist.
If there ever was a lesson to be learned here, it is that those who ignore history are doomed to repeat it.

With all due respect Beezer, you should up your dosage to 50mg. If you hung around the Bobby household and brought up this lunatic garbage on a football Sunday when the RAVENS were rolling, you better hope Oxy Clean takes out tar and feathers. To this day, everytime someone takes a poo at my house we refer to it as "taking an Irsay." What is your next "warning shot"? I suggest you read George Will's piece in the Washington Post today, and you will see that socialism is alive and well in the U.S.
I would rather jam bamboo in my eyes than read anything by that pretentious, irrelevant prick George Will (especially when football is starting). BTW. Some of us might point out that the true Communist devil is the one who can't table uneducated dogma and political grudges even on the day we celebrate OUR TRUE NATIONAL SPORT!!!!!!!!!!

BTW. I have decided jamming bamboo in my eyes is more tolerable than watching anymore of the Ravens re-enactment of the "7th Cavalry Little Bighorn 1876 Tour Video." I actually pulled that Will article up-it is in a separate window if you want to come back to debate. Although I have had a chilly Sam Adams or two (four), my comprehension of the article seems to suggest Will is (once again) going AGAINST the current GOP ideology by blaming them for any "socialism" that has ALREADY set in, and giving them a slap to let them know they need to heal themselves and find different ideas to base their platform on. Will is a complex writer (very uppity....even more than me). Just because a word, like "socialism" is used somewhere, you have to read the surrounding context. Will is no friend to the GOP (he certainly did Bob Dole no good in 1996) as Keillor/Franken are no friend to the Dems. They guys, quite frankly, are lucky ahole writers who weren't qualified, or passionate, enough to be an M.D. or J.D. to really help society out. Talk is cheap. Go Cubs (NOT !!!).

What a tragedy for our historical heritage - Colts - to have been forced out by our elected representatives.
But it doesn't surprise me as I've lived in this socialist culture my entire life.
My advise for anyone that may be considering opening a new business in Maryland is to stay-a-way.

You aren't that stupid to believe the gov't would take over the salary of the Colts (even a generation ago) via eminent domain are you....are you...(literary smack inserted here- are you)!!!!?/!!?!! Before you answer that, ask yourself how well the state does does covering entry-level/public safety salaries for "salt-of-the-earth" folk (most of Salisbury's proud, TRUE demographic {the people who lost jobs from Bayliner, Dresser, Crown Cork, yada yada yada}). I am pretty sure John Elway's (who can similarly rot in h.e. double hockey sticks) salary would be no problem, huh? You are now insulting yourself as not just an American, but as a Marylander (and a mammal). I hope Irsay is about "well-done", if not cajun blackened, where he is right now. Good riddance.
