Slow Morning

Posts will be slow this morning as I will be out ringing the Bell for the Salvation Army. I have volunteered for a few terms this Holiday Season and look forward to doing so.

I have received calls and messages from friends telling me they got involved as well once they saw our Post last week on this.

If you have the time, (2 hours at a time) to volunteer please contact the Salvation Army. Thanks for understanding and I'll be back to Posting later this morning.

To reserve a bell ringing time slot, please call The Salvation Army at 410-749-7771, extension 100 or email kkundell@uss,salvationarmy.org.

I know times are tough, instead of always just dropping all my change into the bucket I've started giving early and add a few dollars and my change everytime I see a bucket. After the holidays there will be a lot of people needing help. Salvation Army, thanks for all that you do.

The absolute BEST WAY to help those less fortunate this time of year is to spend a few hours ringing the bells and spreading good cheer. There are still lots of opportunities, please call KK.

Either individually or as groups, make the commitment. You'll be so glad you did...right, Joe? Isn't it the BEST???

It was absolutely fantastic, seriously.

God Bless all those people who are so giving. I was truly amazed with this economy just how giving people are, it has truly taught me a lesson.

Folks, the Salvation Army really needs your help. They are so short handed it isn't funny.

Please, if you have two hours to spare, please make contact with the Salvation Army and give of yourself this Holiday Season.

Joe (and all sbynews readers): The Optimist Club of Salisbury has volunteered to handle the Grocery entrance at the Fruitland Walmart. I am coordinating the effort. We will be responsible for Dec 1-6. We have a few slots open, and would invite anyone who can donate an hour or two (particularly daytime) to contact me & we'll see if we can get a good fit. It really is important to the families that are struggling to get everything scheduled. If you can help, please call me on my cell at 410-251-2799. The Optimist Club, the families, and particularly the kids will be most grateful! Bob Caldwell 410-251-2799

My husband rang the other day, said that the better dressed and more affluent appearing someone was, the less likely they were to put paper money into the kettle. Some folks who could clearly use the money themselves were very generous, he said. I guess those who are familiar with struggle get the most out of easing someone elses struggle, even by a little bit.

Hey Joe. How about posting your schedule when and where you'll be ringing. There's some people who would really love to see you.

So nice to hear good news, in these
times of despair. American people
are the greatest!! Joe, I'm
proud of you. Perhaps we all can
learn , it is better to give then
receive any day of the week!!!!

You mean the same chimps that were going to see Joe at bike week? I bet he has more people watching his back than you do. Mess with Joe you might find out what a cluster beating really is chimps.

Give until it hurts then give some more.

Its pretty sad that here is a person donating his time to help others and you have a few jerks always trying to disgrace him. Keey up the good work Joe!

Gordy and See are pu$$ie$. Joe goes out and did a good dead for his fellowman today. Have you ever seen Gordy or See ring a bell? They won't either. The other night at the council meeting See received a flag on the behalf of the SFD, thats about all he's good for. What is it about certain fire dept indivuals who think they are above everyone else? And why do they think they are so big and bad?

Joe, great job today!

Does anyone even know if there is even such a person as David Mullens? Sounds like a fake name to me.

I was ringing at the grocery entrance at Wal-Mart Fruitland today and would like to again thank all who donated. At 10:00, I even had a lady put in a $50 bill!

My Christmas wish would be Joe and Chief See ringing together anywhere. In the spirit of the season, it would be nice to see them work together for a good cause. I bet the Chief would do fine if he just let his defense down and tried to get along. It would be a sight to behold and a real message of cooperation and fellowship. Can this be arranged ?

Joe, why don't won't you post where you're going to be? If you're not scared, and you say you're not, post it. Nobody's stupid enough to call you with your history of running to the cops.

I have stood up, face to face with Chief See. I have stood up to Chief Webster and you hide behind anonymous and act like I'm not man enough to face you?

You're a joke. Everyone is laughing at you little man.
