While it's been a long day for many of us, I for one did absolutely no shopping whatsoever today and never planned on it.
However, it's not all about me and what I choose to do.
Did you go shopping today?
Did you find any really good deals?
Was it worth getting up at 4:00 AM?
Were the lines out of this world?
Were people in nasty moods?
You're welcome to answer one or all if you like.

I intended to get up earlier than I did. I went to two stores starting at six thirty a.m. I got three out of four items I was looking for. The most memorable points of my morning were at best buy. In the BB parking lot, I observed a man and a woman (from separate cars) arguing and near to getting physical. I did not stick around to see what they were carrying on about but they were very angry. Also, the lines in that store were insane. I stood for almost an hour and would estimate about sixty people were in front of me. I saw signs on the sidewalk that there had been campers that morning. Quite an interesting day. There were also great deals shopping on-line today!
Stop the Madness, un-addict yourselves. With the economy the way it is save,save,save...
No. I just rode around the store parking lots looking for fire lane violations that needed mitigation.
I took the easier of the two I watched our grandson while the wife and daughters went shopping. For a 4 year old he plays a good game of Pool.
I worked my part time retail job today. Yes there were lines and the people who said thank you way out numbered the people who just wanted to complain. So to all the nice people and the patient ones from the people who spent more than 8 hours on their feet Thank you.
I was one of the nuts up and out early this am. My son waited in line at BB for a long time waiting to get a "ticket" for one of the sale items. Their ad said some stores would give them out starting at 3am. The one in Salisbury didn't. When they did give them out people weren't sure if they had given them all out or just given out certain tickets. After waiting outside for almost 3 hours some were told the tickets had already been handed out about 90 minutes ago. BB needs help. I was at Walmart at about 4:15 and there were loads of people there. They had all the electronics set up in the isle near produce. I heard them call for security a few times someone said a fight broke out over on that side. The lines were not long when I left but alot of people were still gridlocked trying to get around the store. After leaving Walmart I went to Home Depot. HD was suppose to open at 6am. I got there about 5:30 or so and waited maybe 5-10 minutes and they unlocked the door and let us all in. HD YOU ROCK...you are the only store that opened early. There were employess all up and down the front isle trying to help people find anything they needed and the lines were short. I got out of there just in time to get to Lowes as they were opening at 6am. They also has a few employees helping people find what they needed and the lines were also short. I headed to Kmart not brave enough to venture into the Mall it look like a mad house. Kmart seems to have improved on alot of things the last few times I have been in there. I was in there yesterday to grab something and they were VERY helpful, the manager even went in the back to find what I needed. It wasn't a mad house in there today lots of people but all seem to be ok and after searching for what I needed, with the help of an employee, we did find it. The lines were a bit long but all the registers were open and the lines did move pretty quick. So all and all it was a pretty good day for me.
Don't these people know that there is a recession going on?!
I heard that there was a Walmart employee who died from being trampled and a pregnant woman miscarried in the same line after opening the doors. Supposedly happened in Long Island. NO gift or deal is worth all of that!
Black Friday shoppers are sheep. This day of all days makes me sick to my stomach.
5:51 pm,
Yes there is a recession. I am part of that. I didn't have NO money to shop. I just sat home, eat leftovers from yesterday and watch television. That's all I could offer to do. I hope the shoppers had fun. Happy Holiday to all.
Nope. I worked my 8 hour shift in retail. Had a decent but not outstanding day sales-wise, but had a good time, because I always keep a smile on my face and make my customers feel welcome. No cranky customers today.
I did not go shopping at all today. Just too worried about money as I have my own business and things have slowed down a lot. Would rather stay home and enjoy my home and family instead of fighting the crowds and rush.
Christmas this year will be much "slimmer" and gift giving is going to be more limited.
Forget shopping, after all the cooking I did, I rested my aching feet today.
I let my fingers do the shopping today, all online. I am proud to announce I am finished with shopping for this year. What I didn't get today, I won't be getting.
Happy Holidays

Was that chief sea or fatso hoppes? They are 2 of the laziest people I have ever seen in my life so I know they never got out of the car.
When I used to work for the fire department I used to catch David See sleeping at the training center on Isabella Street almost every day. He would drive a truck for Thompson Trucking at night and then sleep at the training center every day. He did wake up occaisionally to smoke a cigarette or a cigar.
I'm with Joe! I hate to shop when it's not black friday. I save money by making a lot of my gifts. Also the stores have lots of sales at the end of the winter season, there are no crowds and great deals!
You'll never catch me going far from home on black Friday. Many are frustrated, in a hurry, have accidents and get cranky.
I still remember the Rumble in the Old Mall when the Cabbage Patch Babies came out, it was a stampede and people were fighting over dolls.
At one Walmart today a store worker was crushed to death from a stampede of 2000 people rushing to be the first to get in.
A shooting somewhere else. Now those kind of things will really put a damper on festive celebration. I'll stay home every black Friday, thank you.
I know my family has grown so big that our family does the secret Santa thing and draw names. It's much easier to buy one gift of good quality than to give away cheap crap just to say I did. Like the same thing we do at work, exchange names and it works good for us. It takes a lot of stress out of the shopping experience.
to 5:40
damn can we read your diary?
But it must be nice to have so much money.
No shopping here. BROKE ,BENT , BUSTED, JOBLESS, HUNGRY, READY TO BE THROWN OUT OF MY HOUSE.
MERRY XMAS TO THOSE OF YOU DOING SO WELL.
Yeah....trampling people to death is so NOT what Christmas is about. What would Jesus think?I blame the retailers for whipping people into a frenzy by offering "doorbuster" deals, because many people are too stupid to realize you can get the same deals by never stepping foot into the store, just by going to their website. All the hoopla surrounding Black Friday is insane-what,so people can save a few bucks on a Wii?
