Please understand, while I certainly realize that many of these questions are important for national security, it has become clear that in order for run for the office of President, one is not vetted nearly so closely. As has become apparent with Mr. Ayers and Rev. Wright, the President Elect did not answer any such questions.

This is almost the same questionaire you would get if you were trying to fix the Presiden'ts helicopters at HMX-1. The background check goes back to your old neighborhood and talks to your elementary school friends or teachers asking about character and incidents. It's another thing if they mention something you didn't (because after 10-15 yrs stuff gets forgotten). The last time I went thru one of these things it was 1994. They also wanted to know if you had information that would be useful for blackmail type situations. I think military people are generally younger than politicians so they may only go back a certain number of years. This isn't anything new, and it's true, Obama was not properly vetted by any means.
