Still No Crime In Salisbury

Praise The Lord, there is no crime in Salisbury for 9 days now. So to all you nay sayers when it comes to Chiefy Webster, (me included) take it back because this guy has created miracles.

Now who's got a Bridge in New York and swamp land in Florida they'd like to sell me?

What I find particularly disturbing is the fact that for many moons here I see detailed police reports about people being busted for a noisy house party or a small sack of weed (which will eventually be nol pros/stet/pbjed anyway after a great deal of court time and expense), yet I think I just read on an adjacent post today a police warning about a completely unsolved recent armed robbery on Spruell Dr. (that used to be a wonderful small family, emphasize family, neighborhood). I think everyone would stipulate we have finite police resources these days-let campus police handle the SU crowd (unless they are swinging 4x4s), don't sweat the little crap that is no worse than the binge alcohol abuse/raiding of mommy's medicine cabinet, and focus the investigations, dogs, and task forces on VIOLENT crime prevention, proactive patrolling. Or yes, please let us carry pistols legally ourselves so we at least have a fighting chance.

Be interesting to compare crimes from single family residences, versus rental properties. Where are the majority of these people engaging in serious criminal activity living, whos loosing and whos gaining. Someone should do a survey to find out.

NO crime? One of my friends was robbed last night in front of her own home!!!! Hit her and snatched her purse from her shoulder, which is injured.

1:52. We know; at least those of us with scanners and reliable testimony-That is my point at least-the staus quo is outrageously ineffective...Your deputy/officer was probably detained until the wee hours of the morning doing 3-4 hours of paperwork on a college dude/chick who was busted for {gasp} holding a dime bag of weed. BTW...how many violent crime sprees that you know of have started after listening to a Bob Marley album in a lava-lamped, smokey dorm room? I have heard from others that if you endulge in this regard the only crime you are likely to commit is felony consumption of Ben & Jerry's while creating a large, permanent dent in your own sofa cushions. I will really challenge your SU readership now by stating the only reason you see the athletes go bat guano during their actual seasons is because they know they will be drug tested during these months and the "demon herb" stays in their systems too long to get away with it-alcohol does not. Does it make anyone feel any better that certain non-natural stimulants are metabolized much more quickly, and Jager Bombs (with Red Bull) with Patron chasers, are not likely to yield the peaceful hippies that you would most likely prefer living next door? Folks, you have got to pick your battles here-do you want all your (already understaffed)officers focusing on "vice" crimes (many of you guys also think the devil is going to napalm the universe a la Revelations if we allow slot machine gaming).....or would you like to actually "take a bite out of crime." This is no longer 1958; you can't live like Ozzy and Harriet (these days Ozzie and Sharon is even too old-fashioned)-Shit or get off the community pot!!

Can someone please explain what in the hell they are paving Rt. 50 for? Chaa---rist! Ridiculous! I mean, aren't we pulling the budget ropes a bit tighter and cutting costs where not needed? Blows my mind. I roll from the paved to the old paved road, and it's fine!

I realize it's the state and not the county, but still - put that money elsewhere.

Joe,
I know you don't like to post web sites, but I got this one from you.

http://www.crimereports.com/

Enter "21801" in the search field and choose 7 days. Plenty of crime out there.

Its a privledge for the crime to be posted on their website, and as far as the paper goes, its up to the paper to print the crime! Hmmm, lets think solve the crimes or post them on the web! All of you people know so much about what crimes are happening and what crimes are solved or unsolved so whats the point in a press release! You know it all already!

Funny, the Sheriff's Office and Fruitland, as well as Ocean City don't seem to have a problem sending out Press Releases and solving crime.

i hope the university has plan to build more on campus student housing and we can see how fast all the slumlords can flip their dumps.

Let me remind you Joe that until recently, WCSO NEVER posted their stuff on their website!

Give it a rest, no one is denying the high crime (well, not me...maybe the chief is, who knows)! I don't work for SPD, or any other agency, you couldn't pay me enough to do that job, not in any city or town, anywhere in the world! So I have nothing to hide! I just think people are jumping on the Albero wagon way to easily!

BE YOURSELF!! Stop being a bunch of followers!
