Let's Hear It For Kimmy!

The former cheerleader (age 19) in the picture below was watching a road that led to a NATO military base when she observed a man digging by the road. She engaged the target, and she shot him. Turned out he was a bomb maker for the Taliban and he was burying an IED that was to be detonated when a U.S. patrol walked by 30 minutes later. It would have certainly killed and wounded several soldiers.

The interesting fact of this story is the shot was measured at 725 yards. She shot him as he was bent over burying the bomb. The shot struck him in the rear end blowing him into the bomb which detonated. He was blown to pieces.

The Marines made a motivational poster of her. Her name is Kimmy.

To you, Kimmy, we say, HOoooRah! Thanks for your service.

When I was 19 I did a guy in Laos from a thousand yards. It was a rifle shot in high wind. Maybe 8 or 10 other guys in the world could have made that shot. It's the only thing I was ever good at. Well...see you tomorrow.

She's Air Force. Look at the chevrons on her sleeve.

Wouldn't the guy taking the picture have given her away as a sniper? Great picture and everything, but snipers wouldn't be wearing earrings and lip gloss. Male or female. Are there female snipers in the Air Force? I don't think so.

I'm not looking at her chevrons...look at those eyes. I went out with a girl (many moons ago)that was a tremendous shot-she went to the outdoor range looking like Courtney Cox in ear protection. That's hot, man. After awhile I could no longer shoot comfortably in the prone position (if you know what I mean).

Hi guys and gals thanks for the publicity and praise! Just to let you know my "turn ons" are uneducated humps who think female AF snipers don't exist, long walks/crawls to remote Pakistani and Syrian villages, and Navy SEAL's who aren't afraid to cry while watching "The English Patient." My "turn offs" are sloppy kisses, stovepipe jams, and indigenous goatherders betraying my position. Please don't be too hard on me for wearing a little make-up and earrings because I am often assigned to work in Muslim theaters where I must even wear a burka-with additional "over-burkha" (even when I am in the shower) while trying to protect a culture that hates the fact I have any individual rights. Vote Republican in December!!! XOXOXO. Kimmy.

Just a comment--my best friend retired from the air force as a Sr.Chief Master Sgt. in the EOD division. She was in charge of her unit. (sorry, I do not know the terminology). I am so proud of her and her service to this country. She was able to handle and use all kinds of weaponry. She is now employed with a world wide company with a very elite group in the weapons of mass destruction arena. Identifying, neutralizing, etc. She works with nuclear physicists, and people with way more letters behind their name than she does. But they respect her as an equal because she has the grit, and the hands on knowlege.
There are women in the military serving in all kinds of specialized areas. It would not surprise me at all if there was a woman sniper.

During Clinton's 2nd term there was a big debate about putting women into combat, and women lost. That is, the many women who wanted these combat tours were told it was too dangerous for them and the mission. So there aren't any American women snipers in any combat unit anywhere in the world. Does that mean that she is no good with a weapon or Kimmy can't be as good as a sniper? no it doesn't. Kimmy is a good gimmick, but she is not a real sniper shooting terrorist for the US military.

9:24. Just because someone told you something does not make it true. Although the marines and army do not allow female troops as field combatants, The AF guard has sent several females through their security sniper/counter-sniper program (they prefer to denote them as sharpshooters)at Eielson Airbase. The first graduate was Jennifer Donaldson in 2001 (although she isn't Barbie-looking, she still appears somewhat hot and fun to drain a few beers with). I believe there are currently around 10 still active. Don't get too uppity regarding female shooting abilities. Feedback from the women sharpshooter's indtructors stated they are as good, if not better, in many cases because they table their egos and learn creative new things to make them better (this is why if you are a poor male golfer, your female competitors beat you like a dog from the 150 yard marker in). The women make excellent counter-snipers because they are very keen at sighting, stalking and eliminating the enemy sniper nests. If you have ever had a wife/girlfriend find a matchbook in your sportcoat with a strange phone number-you know of her stealth and persistence in resolving this issue. And the only proof you really need to hear is that WW II Russian women snipers, in Stalingrad and such, had hit totals that far exceed almost every sniper in history (some had confirmed kill totals that riveled Gunny Carlos Hathcock in Nam). Google Lyudmila Pavlichenko, Nina Lobkovskaya and Roza Shanina. You might be surprised.
