Jim Ireton Responds To Mayor Tilghman's WWTP Task Force

The community has waited for over 20 years for specific action to be taken to end wastewater/stormwater issues as they relate to the Wicomico River. Another well intentioned group of citizens, much like the Crime Task Force, has been charged with the task of telling the city administration what they already know. MDE documents already determine how the spills happened.

During each of the last 10 years, each spill at the plant was explained away by saying that this would not happen any more with the advent of the NEW Wastewater Treatment Plant. Every spill was met with 'I take full responsibility' from the city administration.' Generating a goal and a scope of work is too little too late. - Jim Ireton 10/20/08

MORE TO COME....

Mayor Tilghman, to little to late...10 years in office and now she decides to organize another task force for political gain. Don't worry the majority of the citizens of Salisbury see through your games and tactics...good try though...

How do they even measure the spills...they guess. Under a certain amount they don't report. Go Jim.

It's sad that Jim would even need to respond to this crap. I'm glad that he is though. But, look how low Tilghman has taken our city, and now she thinks she can create a task force for every issue and wash her hands of this.

I almost wish she was running again, just so I could watch her go down in flames in the election.

Barrie Tilghman = WORST MAYOR EVER

I just read in today's paper where an executive in China is being imprisoned for extortion of money during the construction of the stadiums in the Olympic games. Its
called accountability. It obvious that accountability is not in the English dictionary when it comes to politics, especially in Salisbury. This Mayor has not taken responsibilty for anything!!!

Anybody that thinks it's all the Mare's fault that Salisbury is a poop hole should look in the mirror. The people kept electing her. The people have not held her accountable. Their are blatent things that has happened that should be investigated and nothing is happening. Stand up people. Hold her accountable.Scoop up a bucket of turd water out of the river and leave it on her porch. Someone should be everywhere she is. She needs to feel the pressure from the people. She needs to be made to do better. Afterall, it's your city. it's your county. It's your state and country. Keep the press on. Don't let up until we are actually represented like we should be.

Gee, can ya tell there's an election comin'? Lots of new mayor's Task Forces, pledges from the three council stooges to be nice...

Think I'm gonna hurl!

Mardela, lots of folks wanted her out in the last election. She beat an unelected guy just 60-40.

I PRAY Jim Ireton or someone with brains and class runs this time.

Heard Comegys is gonna run. That buffoon is just a Bubba version of Barrie.

You should have ehard Louise last night. Her idea of fiscal restraint is each department pick one thing to cut...NEXT YEAR! Campbell is pushing hard to revisit this year's budget, so don't be surprised if the Mayor comes back and claims that idea as her own, or if too late in the year to do any real good the council makes some meaningless gestures. Louise asked the press to stay to hear about how she had found that the finance department spent too much on a letter opener. They still spent too much, but she used it as her example of fiscal restraint...say it again folks, because it's her new buzz word and just as meaningless as when she chanted "accountability."

you can tell it's election year, Shanie voting with C & C more and more. losing that $10,000 a year and health benefits will stick a fork in her. we are tired of suck up's.

9:06 a.m., that's funny. I've notice all of them trying to be C and C these days. If they think being more like C and C is the key to getting re-elected or being well thought of, why the hell didn't they just vote with them to begin with, instead of treating them like dirt? Yeah, our memory is that short--NOT!

And the ole gray mare can quit doing studies that cost money--especially when they have been done before--at a cost.
As I have voiced before---any non-urgent spending needs to stop-Now---until the budget reverts back to line item for starters.

Second-Louweasal needs to repeal her fricking time limit on speech.

I am sick and tired of being sick and tired with the majority of the clowns that are in our city government. Inept and unprofessional at best--greedy a$$-ki$$ers

Can't wait for the election.
