I Refuse To Buy Gas From A Gordy Tiger Mart

The gentleman to the left is the man I met weeks ago who told me he went several times into the Gordy Tiger Mart and asked if he could place a Andy Harris Sign outside along with the Kratovil Sign. He has spoken to management there several times and every time he goes to buy gas for his vehicles, he walks inside and asks again and again and then tells them that if they won't allow him to do so he'll go somewhere else to purchase his gas. Obviously he has walked out every time and he has in fact purchased his gas elsewhere.

Many of you continue to ask why I keep posting the Gordy Tiger Mart on this Blog and I'll repeat, until he plays fair I'll continue to post whatever I so choose. Gordy chose to post a political sign outside his business taking the risk of losing business for doing so. Well, lose what you may. This gentleman continues to ask, they refuse to accept his offer, Salisbury News is exposing Gordy for such, end of story.

Hey Joe-

Why don't you post an Obama/Biden banner on our websites front page? Gordy has just as much right as you do to show support for his preferred candidate. Even if that means that you might lose the business of people that don't agree.

You're beating a dead horse.

Our entire family won't stop there anymore. However, Gordy is entitled to back whomever he wants, even a looser.

So by your logic if a business does not vote for your choice of politicians you will stalk them and post nasty posts about them everyday. So I guess then that EVERY business in your voting district is voting for Harris. I guess he a sure winner then.

In the spirit of America, I have to say I disagree with this reasoning. I think we've reached a point where we insist on political correctness in inappropriate situations, trampling on people's rights to choice, opinion, and freedom of speech. I think if we limited our purchases to the businesses who have the same political opinions as our own, we'd have a very tough time finding what we need. If the owner of Gordy supports Kratovil, he should absolutely be allowed to show that support. Its just like a celebrity, congressman, or average joe declaring their support for one candidate or another. I'm not going to stop watching a show because an actor supports one candidate and refuses to endorse another at the same time. I'm not going to stop buying gas from a gas station because someone feels strongly enough about a candidate that they want to show their own support. That's just silly. This is America. Freedom of choice. The right to choose a candidate you believe in and endorse that person. The freedom to not like the other candidates and NOT support them. Rather than despise those who disagree and their mannor of disagreement, celebrate their right to disagree and rejoice in the fact that we live in a country that guarantees us life, liberty and the pursuit of happiness. We live in a country where we can elect our public officials with a private ballot and publicly state our disdain without consequence when these officials let us down. I applaud him for standing up for what he believes in, just as I applaud you, Joe, for always standing up for what you believe in. I disagree with you on this one though, and I'm proud that in America we both have that right.

anonymous 8:19,

I'm not asking anyone to buy anything from me and I'm not selling the same snake oil as 100 other service stations in town are doing at a much higher rate.

That being said, Duvall is probably sporting the other guy. Go there if you don't like it here.

I have a small service business so my truck is my place of business.

So your telling me that I have to put a Obama and Kratovil sticker beside my Mccain and Harris stickers to be fair?
I know when I put my Mccain and Harris stickers on I would probably lose some business from some left leaning folks.

I agree with 8:15. It's his choice whether to risk business loss or not in support of whomever he chooses.

If you want to bash him for his candidate, fine. That's your choice. If you want to call him an idiot for risking his business fine.

But his business doesn't have to give "equal time" and to bash him for that is downright un-American.

Can't stand Gordy, won't buy there (not because of the election), but principle is principle.

The Gordy posts to me were about the high price of gas compared to the cheapest in Salisbury. That is always worth posting.

Only a brain dead Obama supporter would come up with something like this.

Gordy makes a living on his gas and Mr. Albero does this out of the kindness of his heart. Joe's main purpose of this blog is to inform the public.

I'm also boycotting all Gordy establishments.

Our entire household is not purchasing any more gas, drinks, coffee, sodas, from this double dipper.

Bill Gordy has a right to put whatever he wants on his property!
Also who gives a shit where you buy your gas? Bill Gordy doesn't need your business and if you don't like what he does at his business location don't go there. He doesn't like your blog and believe me, he doesn't waste his time reading all of Joe's lies about him. As for the old man in the picture..doesn't look like he will be buying much more gas in his lifetime anyway. Is that Mike's dad? He kinda favors him, on the other hand he is not short enough.

I dont buy things from Gordy Tigger Marts because I just dont like the guy or his son. They try to control the town and the firedeprtment like it belongs to them. He started out in the business and was a nice guy. He has some nice stores. But he has changed, and I dont like it one bit. I also know some of the employees have noticed the changes in that company. Some of them are becomming disgruntled. It has nothing to do with the signs though.

While it may be Gordy's right, it is my right to boycott his stores and any other that support the obama-nation of this country. Make no mistake about it, Gordy supports waste and more taxes {1 example is the firehouse} a vote for obama is a vote to further enslave us to taxes and goverment control and waste. I see you as a traitor to this country, even if its by your ignorance. So for those of you who wish to distroy this country further, speak boldly your name and fearnot the list of accountability!

I just went to get my gas at Gordy's! I couldn't find one sign asking you to buy your gas there and trust me, I looked everywhere for one. He advertises his gas prices. That's it! If you choose to go to another gas station, good for you..go to another gas station.

I think that you turning this into a political statement and it will drive people that are only just favoring Harris along with those that are still sitting on the fence over to vote for Kratovil. I for one, am one of those that have been on the fence, trying to decide who to vote for, and finding articles like this make me thing that Harris has operatives like you doing his dirty work for him.

After searching your blog for more articles related to Gordymarts, and reading them. You can clearly see it is political harrasment.

It is my right to post anonymous thank you, and where is you name you idiot.

I buy my gas at Gordy's every week. My whole family does. If price always matters then Joe needs to trade the Benz on a Ford Escort huh? He would look more fitting in an Escort, and would probably fit his character as well.

Anonymous said...

Oh Noooo 11:56. You have a point there. It is your choice to buy your gas where you want just as it is your choice to buy your car where you want. This is America Joe. You need to take a different approach to this my friend.

Anonymous said...

We used to buy gas there but have stopped because of the firehouse issues. I can not imagine why he is supporting an O'Malley propped person

Anonymous said...

I never buy gas at Gordy's and that is because they are always a few cents higher than other gas stations. Keep the stupid politics out of the discussion and tempers won't flare.

Anonymous said...

Damn, does this mean Gordy's gross profit will go up even higher with all of the Democrats buying their gas at Gordy's? Bill will be a very wealthy man.

Anonymous said...

12:14 you mean you were buying your gas at the highest price in town? Then you should have no problem with wasteful spending my dear.

Anonymous said...

This is America--Bill Gordy has the right to support whoever he wants for Congress. Although I plan to vote for Harris, this issue is lame in my opinion. There are other issues that need to be addressed in this community that are more important than this.

9:22 -- actually most station owners barely break even on gas sales, and make most of their revenue running the convenience store end of operations ...

It sure is fun to dislike Gordo. he has pushed people around long enough. His boys Sea and Bubba are doing his work. Gordo needs to go.

I owned a small business and it was supported by the generalpublic. I liked their business and prospered on their purchases. For that reason I either did not allow campaign signs, or allowed them from both candidates. It's really very simple, if you choose to mix politics or religion with your business than expect people that don't support your choice to go elsewhere. That being said I don't see too many successful business' that rely on the general public isolating themselves but choosing sides publicly.

I am business owner myself and have trucks all over Salisbury every day , I could put McCain/Palin stickers all over my trucks, but i have to be fair to all my customers, so i don't, however my yard will have signs , I just think a company should stay unbiased, how ever i will still stop at Gordy's when i need too, but will make it a 2nd choice when i can
