There will come a day when someone will actually take the time to fully investigate the Salisbury Fire Department and surrounding Fire Departments as well but just recently I came to learn several issues in which Mayor Tilghman needs to be held accountable once again because of her LACK of leadership.
First of all, your very own Chief See just put in an application to the Delmar Fire Department. Volunteer status or not, he has abandoned his own Department after spending $10,000,000.00 on a brand new facility. Deny it Chief, I dare you.
Then, to top it off, 3 other Salisbury Paid Firefighters that I know of, (I'm told there were actually 5 total but I only have 3 other names at the moment) have sold their homes in Salisbury and purchased homes in Delmar, DE. and have also applied to join the Delmar Fire Department as well.
While I'm happy to see Delmar get such quality Fire Fighters, Salisbury continues to lose quality Volunteers and when I preached to all of you over the past two years that people were jumping ship and were NOT going to relocate to the new Fire Station, I was exactly right.
So what has this $10,000,000.00 Fire Station brought us? Would you believe, CRIMINALS? A year or so ago I brought to every one's attention that there was only one paid black Firefighter. Chief See and Deputy Chief Gordy went into a damage control spin and immediately hired another black professional Firefighter named David Cox. You remember David, don't you? He's the guy who was recently arrested for allegedly impersonating a Police Officer. GO HERE to see the article and evidence against Mr. Cox.
What many of you didn't know is, Cox was hired even though he had a criminal history. That's right, See & Gordy absolutely 100% knew this guy was trouble but they needed another black Firefighter so they hired him anyway.
For the first time in Salisbury's History, a Firefighter was arrested for criminal activity, or so they claimed anyway. I came to learn that was complete BS. Now I'd like all of you to go into the Maryland Case Search Files and look up a Mr. Ronald Brandon Jones, recently hired by the Salisbury Fire Department. Mr. Jones has quite the criminal history as well, yet the SFD refuses to recognize such history because they are desperate for people and are ignoring standard protocol.
I ask you Folks, why is the Mayor creating a Criminal Task Force, yet they're hiring criminals within?
Now this is nothing new to the Eastern Shore as Sharptown has one of their own Firefighters with a criminal history, Mr. Cooper. I wish I had more time to investigate all of the names within these Fire Departments to see just how bad things are but I ask you Folks, you have placed trust in the Leaders of these Departments to make sure that when your home is in danger, you want people you can trust going into your home and secure your life long possessions. Do you want people with criminal a history going into your home?
I may get some Firefighters not liking this particular article and Lord knows I'll get some of that crap, we save lives. I respect those men and women who do in fact put their lives on the line for you and I but IF you have a criminal history, you don't belong in the Fire Department. I would hope they would agree.

I should add. There was a study done a couple of years ago asking each and every Firefighter what they thought of the Salisbury Fire Department and the Leadership there. Overwhelmingly, Firefighters complained one after the other that Chief See was not running the Fire Department, he was extremely difficult to get along with and See was pissed at the results.
Today, most Firefighters state that See is nowhere to be found any more and quite frankly he's the last guy that should have a take home vehicle as he rarely ever scows up to a fire AFTER he has left work for the day. One Firefighter even told me in all the years he's been there he has only seen See show up ONE time after hours to a fire. Many believe his vehicle should be taken away as he's not a team player and never has been.
Never ask someone to do something you wouldn't do yourself, that's what I say. It just goes to show you that the Leadership in Salisbury sucks in most Departments and it's time for a change. I know many of the Council Members will be reading this article and I'd even expect some of this to come up in future Debates. The SFD is hiring criminals and yes, they do background checks on every single person brought into the Fire Department. See & Gordy don't play by the rules and I think it's time to make some serious changes, not that See is working anyway, he's never there.

The first photo is of Brandon Records (being pinned by Brian Records) and the one directly below his picture is of Zach Keenan (being pinned by Tim Keenan). Both of them have family and history with the Salisbury Fire Department.
Zach Bridges is paid also. He has been a career firefighter with Salisbury for a couple years now. None of the guys you mention are volunteers in Salisbury.

I understand that. My point is, ALL of them lived in the Salisbury area, moved to Delmar and have recently signed up as Volunteers in Delmar. They are NOT going to Volunteer in Salisbury any longer, like I stated some 2 years ago. The best of the best are leaving one by one. Granted, they will stay as paid Firefighters for Salisbury but there's no interest in sticking around based on taxes going through the roof in Salisbury.
Larry Dodd said it best back when the Mayor and Council raised taxes. They didn't get the pay raises they were promissed and to stay living in the City while taxes went up so high, the biggest people being punished were FIREFIGHTERS.

Fire department policy is that you cannot be a paid employee and volunteer for the organization. These gentlemen are probably joining Delmar so they can be volunteers in an organization that runs a fair amount of calls. They also probably want to reap the tax benefits offered by the LOSAP program. The fact that they have joined Delmar does not mean they are leaving Salisbury.
While I again respect your comment, I disagree. Each one of these individuals moved to Delmar. Others will follow. I understand what you're saying about their staying as paid Firefighters in Salisbury, that's a given. I'm simply saying others will follow and Salisbury just lost (I'm told) 4 people who used to live and pay taxes in Salisbury and moved to Delmar.
It's a trend you're going to see like there's no tomorrow. I have said this for years. Why live in Salisbury and pay those taxes when you can live in Delmar, (like I do) and get everything they offer for FREE?
Zach B has purchased a house in Delmar, MD after renting in Salisbury. Trust me, Delmar, MD is by no means a cheap place to live. It is not at all unusual to be paid with the city and volunteer where you live. What's the big deal? AS far as I know, none of the gentlemen you listed ever volunteered with Salisbury (but I could be wrong).
The big deal is, others will follow. Hence 5 of them joining Delmar at one time.

You should do a Maryland Judiciary Case Search and put in the names of all the volunteers to see who has Stalking / Assult charges on them or charges period. Shucks you should put in the names of all the good paramedics and fire fighters.
Once on the career side you are not allowed to "volunteer" with the department. They can come back after hours for alarms and have the option to put in for straight pay or comp time. Will they? Probably not some have the mentality if they dont come back for calls it will help to back the need for more career fire men. Most work 3 or 4 jobs to supplement the meager pay the mayor provides them.
You should do an article on the paramedics and firefighters that are looking to move elsewhere

Do you even know the whole story, YES he was charged with that stuff but not convicted, All he was doing was trying to get his boys away from a crazy bitch he was married too, and folks let me tell you he did and now has full custody of his boys.

As much as I know you'll disagree with this post. David See is a past member of the Delmar Fire Department and was on the "honarary List". He just applying for reinstatement. As far as Zach Keenan goes he grew up in Delmar and was living with his girlfriend in Delmar. This ain't rocket science here.

You should break this post down to 2 seperate post. 1 about Salisbury City Fire Fighters moving out of the city or looking for employment elsewhere due to not being able to afford to live in the city as you brought up previously and a 2nd post on criminal records and firemen.

The Charges are because the dirty w*** was keeping the kids from him, and Novemeber you will all see he is going to walk away clean, cause all he wanted was his boys to be safe.
They are not telling you why Gerity was charged with these charges, I'm telling you why he was charged, because he wanted his boys away from his X, who left him for a looser. and he got them, she don't.
So why call him a criminal for trying to make sure his boys are safe.

Pittsville yes the place where you can pratice ALS skills and not have a certification at all. Thank God in Salisbury they at least require you to be EMTB certified.
