Race Horse Dies At Finish Line At Ocean Downs Last Night
6-28 race 7.jpg>> 4 year-old stallion Presidential Sam crosses the finish line at Ocean Downs Saturday, June 28 to win the third leg of the "Bud Light Pace" stakes series. The driver is Ray "Shorty" Robinson, Jr. Photo by Best Bet Photos
There were two serious situations last night at the 60 year old Ocean Downs Race Track. In the 7th race, one horse broke stride during the race and ran into another driver, W. David Hill III from Salisbury Maryland. David was rushed to the Hospital but later called back to the Track to let everyone know he was going to be OK.
Later in the 11th Race a 13 YO Gelding, "Pretty Serious" driven by Mickey Golden died at the Finish Line.
David Hill had his own Horse in a later race that he raised, trained, owns and rides was entered into a race but obviously he could not do so. Driver Ray Robinson Jr. took his place driving "Preview The Dream" and WON the Michelob Light Stakes Race. I'm sure that made David feel really good while he was in the Hospital.
On another note, Rosecroft Race Track has closed their doors and Ocean Downs has been rated one of the Top 10 Race Tracks in America. Because Rosecroft closed, the quality of Drivers, Horses and Trainers has gone over the to at Ocean Downs. Should they add Slots, that Track will be in the Top 5 easily. The summer traffic they get is just unbelievable. We'll be posting more information about Ocean Downs in the future.

Glad Mr. Hill is okay.
What happened with the horse that died? Heart attack? Hope it wasn't an kind of drug thing.
The filly that broke her ankles and had to be put down at the Preakness was damn sad, too.
If OD is a top track, I'm the next president.
Just left a dinner and was told that last night was Mayors night at the races, Shanie, Gary and Louse were there and guess what, NO MAYOR!!!
That's a true story from 6:51. I also heard Gary and Shanie were using BOTH hands to eat.
Mayor probably had to stay home and get her alarm system fixed.
