ONE OF SALISBURY'S FINEST RESTAURANTS . . . TAPATIA

Joe:

I have to let you onto something and I hope you put the word out. I've been going to Tapatia Mexican Restaurant for years. I don't think I've ever been disappointed with the food, service, or cleanliness.

The place is always air-conditioned and cool, the food is magnificent, and the quantity of food. . .well you'll probably need a carry-out platter. The prices are very reasonable especially for carrying out an entire family. The service is quick, and the place is always clean. The chips and salsa are incredible.

I have to say that if I had it my way I would eat there almost every night if it wasn't for my better half - (wife) - holding me back.

If you haven't already tried the place, you must try it out ASAP.

I'm already hungry for a quesadilla just talking about it. My recommendation and favorite is No. 118 con pollo -(chicken).

Cheers,

Johnnie

Is this Plaza Tapatia on S. Salisbury Blvd. just north of SU? It is good, but the enchiladas have a little too much kick for me. I have another favorite place but don't want it overcrowded from publicity!

Obviously this person has never eaten REAL mexican food. I love mexican food but around here, in my opinion, all you get is something frozen, heated in the microwave, then served. I am from out west where they serve the real stuff.

I've been to Plaza Tapatia once. nothing impressed me about it.

there's another Mexican restaurant just south of there on the opposite side that is out of sight! Las Margaritas - excellent authentic mexican food; extremely large portions for the prices. the people are super nice. its in the Allenwood Shopping Center - same one that Fratelli's is in. They are hardly ever busy and its a shame because i think that since its in the same space that Nacho Pete's was in that people are hesitant to try it. we eat there at least once, if not twice a week. they know us by name!

I miss Tio Gringos that use to be in Ocean City, before they built Macky's. Now that was the best Mexican Food. Macky's use to have Tio's night in the winter, but it wasn't the same and I don't think they do it any more.

The Cactus Cafe in Selbyville is good. I love the wine margaritas.

Cathy, you have let the cat out of the bag! I am the one who posted at 8:51 AM and didn't reveal the name. I want them to stay in business, but I don't want them overcrowded and/or the quality of the food and service to go down. We have been eating there since they opened, and they are terrific! Love the white salsa! Joe, I believe you may have eaten there a time or 2 also.

11:50. . . you and I are on the same page.

Plaza Tapatia is the best thing to ever happen to Salisbury. Their Mexican Food is KILLER.

I COULD EAT THERE EVERY NITE ALSO.

I have to agree about Plaza Tapatia. My hubby and I go to the one in Seaford at least once a week for our "date" night. We usually have our dinner in 10 minutes or less. The service is great and the food is always hot.The 32 oz Coors are ice cold. We have never spent more than $25 for our dinner. We love it.

I am mexican....Yes I am legal....born and raised here! My favorite is tied between Tapatia and La Tolteca! I think they are a lot more personable and La Tolteca!

My husband and I frequent Plaza Tapatia often and love the food and the wait staff is the finest in Salisbury! All other mexican restaurants here are not worth my money, IMO. Jose, Roberto and Pablo are the kindest people you ever want to meet! The staff makes you feel like family and the food is always fresh and hot! I hope they will win Best Mexican Restaurant in the Metropolitan Magazine this year, they truly deserve it! We have tried Tolteca and Las Margaritas and found the food to be below the standard that we have found at Plaza Tapatia.

i agree tapatia is good. i get the #128 but i thought they lost their liquor license 2 to 3 yrs ago for buying half gallons of liquor from del. and filling up their bottles with the wicomico sticker on it. nobody has been to fiesta mex on newton st.next to wawa. joe been 2 times chip and dips are better.

i love Tapatia! fajita's for two- $14.00 every tuesday! it's a great deal! the staff is so kind and helpful!
i went to las margaritas when it first opened- it smelled like sewage and the food wasn't that great. i hope it has changed since then.

Been to Tapitia, if your aren't a college student drinking your silly a$$ off they don't pay you any mind, Las Margaritas has a funny smell, La Tolteca is tops and locally owned.
