A Letter To The Editor

Joe,

I get the DT on Saturdays to see the Real Estate section, and somehow spotted the following in their lame classified section….as a pet lover I wanted to see that this was actually seen by people, so I’m sending it along to you. Thanks again for all your hard work!

It reads:

ALERT! Dog thieves are operating in the Salisbury area NOW. They are taking dogs out of yards or whatever, putting them in their cars and selling them. Secure your pets and report suspicious behavior immediately.

I don’t know if it’s true, because it’s completely unsigned by anyone, but in case it is, could you pass it along on the blog?

Thanks,

If you are a war movie fan; you would catch my reference to what would happen to these lads if they went "A Dog Too Far".

Better to believe it and be safe.

It is known that dog-napping rings exist around here to fuel dog-fights and testing labs.

It's one of the reasons my stays in. That, and should someone come in, they'll tangle with both dog and man.

What is this world coming to? Now we have to further protect our pets more than just making sure they get fed, watered, and stay out of traffic.
How much do we think a full-grown dog would sell for, anyway?
Do we think these creeps have gotten tired of pirating metals?
Stealing catalytic converters right off of someones car in their driveway? Makes you just shake your head...........

some human being will never add anything to the society, they will always take from it, well always be carrying their weight. sucks doesnt it? theres a couple of generation of these people out there now, the future probably isnt gonna get any better.

I am the same guy from 2:27. I capitalized on the good vibes of productive society by adopting a shepherd/pit bull mix out of Pet's Mart/Dorchester Humane adption. That dog is now my XO (my wife only thinks this..she is merely a mid-shipman on the anonymous program here!!) And if you try to come between me and him (in the words of Gary Busey); he is going to eat out your endocrine system!!!!

I seem to remember a story from a while back, can't remember exactly where but a labratory company was stealing animals and they were used for studys for a drug company if I remember correctly. I saw something of that nature on either TV news or web media.

They're probably being sold for food.

Last week the dog who came to my home out of no where was the one Joe put on the site. I've asked everyone I know if they have seen such a dog in the neighborhood as a pet, etc. Everyone says the same thing, that they had never seen it before.

In the morning after he had gotten a belly full along with a night's sleep when he went out to do his business he also left. I was hoping he found his way home.

I sure hope he wasn't the result of a dog-napping. I pray he has found his home. He sure did leave me with a special memory of his visit.
