Live At The Shorebirds

Top of the 1st - Boomer Whiting scored after being walked and a sac fly by Aaron Seuss. 1-0 Suns.

Bottom of the 1st - 1-2-3 inning for Cole Kimball. 1-0 Suns

Top of the 2nd - Stephen King drove in Dan Lyons and Boomer Whiting with a single. 3-0 Suns.

Bottom of the 2nd - Anthony Martinez got stranded on third after a double. 3-0 Suns

Top of the 3rd - Zach Britton got out of a jam after a botched double play attempt on the Birds' 2nd error of the game. Still 3-0 Suns.

Bottom of the 3rd - Matt Angle got a 2 out single but is left stranded. 3-0 Suns

Top of the 4th - Whiting picked off at first leading off the bag after a single. Birds turn a double play to end the inning on a King hit. 3-0 Suns.

Bottom of the 4th - Joe Nowicki walked with one out. Nowicki scored after a Mahoney single. Keiron Pope grounded out to end the inning. 3-1 Suns.

Top of the 5th - Aaron Seuss got a lead off double off the wall. Seuss moved over to third on a sac fly by Michael Burgess. Seuss thrown out at home on a fielders choice by Travis Reagan. Tim Pahuta got a stand up double scoring Reagan. Mark Gildea intentionally walked but left stranded with Pahuta. 4-1 Suns.

Bottom of the 5th - Castillo and Adams both singled but were left stranded, 4-1 Suns.

Top of the 6th - Whiting lead off with a single and Lyons was hit by a pitch. Both were drove in by a three run blast to center by Seuss. Burgess and Pahuta both then singled but were left stranded. 7-1 Suns.

Bottom of the 6th - Martinez scored on a bobbled ball on a Mahoney drive to center, Mahoney reached third. Pope scores Mahoney on a single to left and stole 2nd but left stranded. 7-3 Suns.

Top of the 7th - Lead off walk to Valerio Heredia and then stole 2nd. Heredia tagged out on a run down after Tyler Henson saved a ball from going into the outfield on a Lyons fielders choice. King got a stand up double to score King. 8-3 Suns

Bottom of the 7th - 1-2-3 inning. 8-3 Suns.

Top of the 8th - 1-2-3 inning. 8-3 Suns.

Bottom of the 8th - Another 1-2-3 inning. 8-3 Suns.

Top of the 9th - 2 men left stranded after walks. 8-3 Suns.

Bottom of the 9th - 1-2-3 to end it.


The Shorebirds drop to 0-2 for the 2nd half and The Suns move to 2-0. The winning pitcher was Cole Kimball (2-3) and the loosing pitcher was Zach Britton (6-5). These two meet again tomorrow night at 7:05 for game three of four.
