It is the *VETERAN*, not the preacher, who has given us freedom of religion.
It is the *VETERAN*, not the reporter, who has given us freedom of the press.
It is the *VETERAN*, not the poet, who has given us freedom of speech.
It is the *VETERAN*, not the campus organizer, who has given us freedom to assemble.
It is the *VETERAN*, not the lawyer, who has given us the right to a fair trial.
It is the *VETERAN*, not the politician, Who has given us the right to vote.
It is the *VETERAN* who salutes the Flag,
It is the *VETERAN* who serves under the Flag,
*ETERNAL REST GRANT THEM O LORD, AND LET PERPETUAL LIGHT SHINE UPON THEM.*

Yes, and may God bless all our veterans no mater where or when they served our flag!

GOD BLESS THE SOLDIERS
No matter what uniform past and present
Soldier is for life
Freedom really is free. Otherwise, it isn't freedom. We have very few freedoms left in America - in spite of the hard work of our veterans. It is the people who tell the vets who to kill that are our problem. The odds are this: the veteran probably took away freedoms from some poor bastard in another country. That is the sad reality of Veteran's Day.
Amen! and Happy 80th Birthday Art.
In Flanders Fields
By: Lieutenant Colonel John McCrae, MD (1872-1918)
Canadian Army
IN FLANDERS FIELDS the poppies blow
Between the crosses row on row,
That mark our place; and in the sky
The larks, still bravely singing, fly
Scarce heard amid the guns below.
We are the Dead. Short days ago
We lived, felt dawn, saw sunset glow,
Loved and were loved, and now we lie
In Flanders fields.
Take up our quarrel with the foe:
To you from failing hands we throw
The torch; be yours to hold it high.
If ye break faith with us who die
We shall not sleep, though poppies grow
In Flanders fields.
