SU Police Chief Lashley Leaves Post

From Salisbury University's Student E-Mail Release,

Chief Edwin Lashley, who has led the Salisbury University Police for the past three years, has been appointed by Maryland Comptroller Peter Franchot as the new head of the Comptroller's Office field enforcement division. Ed will leave SU at the end of April.

Please join me in congratulating him on his selection for this important law enforcement position and thanking him for his service to the University. A veteran of the Maryland State Police, he introduced new standards of professionalism to the SU force. He has been an active and involved member of the administration of the campus. Ed has led the Emergency Management Team at a crucial time and served as a role model for everyone. We will certainly miss him.

I am sad to see him go, he has done well for the University. As far as a replacement, I think Mike Nikalaus, who has been an officer at the University for quite some time, would make an outstanding cheif. I have worked with him on several occasions, he is truly dedicated and a great asset to the University.

I went to school with Ed, he was a couple years ahead of me but I tell you he could whack a baseball. I used to play Colt League and I hit the center field fence once, can't remember maybe 325 feet. Ed used to smack them over the houses past the fence. Congrads Ed~!

Ed will be missed. He has been a tremendous asset and is well respected. I wish him much luck in his new post. His presence in a state post wiill bring the same dedication, honesty, and committment to the citizens and high regard for the law that has been a hallmark of his career. Congratulations to Ed and the State of Maryland

Good Job Ed.

Len Foxwell, former assistant to the Great Hyphenated One of SU, is the Assistant to Peter Franchot. How convenient is that.

Nothing like bringing the Democrats together.
