Manufactured News?

One of two things are happening here. Either someone at the Daily Times has decided they don't like this water tower and they want it removed OR Barrie Tilghman is once again using the Front Page of the Daily Times to market her new strategy of tearing down the properties near the end of the River to revitalize everything at taxpayers expense.

Now look, I'm not saying that one day that old water tower should come down. I'm saying. LOOK YOU IDIOT, we're not only in a recession, we're in a Depression! Hell, even Shanie Shields on the City Council is losing her home to this fallen economy!

One way or the other, no other source of media got this information and quite frankly, even if they did, it's not news unless people recognize THEY CAN'T AFFORD IT!

I told ALL of you long ago, Mayor Tilghman is attempting to drive the Blacks out of that area and the west side of Salisbury. The real estate is cheap and while the Mayor stated in her State of the Screwed Up City Address that "cleaning up this area was said to be impossible," WHO said that Mayor? That was a manufactured statement and some might call that a LIE! YOU just want to control every neighborhood and decide what's livable and not livable to YOUR standards.

I can assure you, no one in that neighborhood is complaining about that water tower. Actually, I think the Adult Book Store on Rt. 13 looks far worse than that water tower, to be quite frank. I guarantee you the graffiti all over the place is far worse, yet you've done nothing about that either.

The taxpayers are sick and tired of you BS schemes of paying for everything YOU want and they're tired of your lies about someone else saying, (like it was a lot of people) it's impossible to clean up the north prong. Show me the video of it. Show me the newspaper articles showing someone in fact made that statement. Then I want to see it not being ONE person, I want to see a crowd of people with signs saying, WE JUST CAN'T TAKE IT ANY MORE!

It's not there because it's MANUFACTURED.

The economy has nothing to do with Shanie Shields losing her home. She signed a bad mortgage contract and didn't keep up her payments. End of story.

The Tilghman Times has become a forum for manufactured (fake) "news" ala Barrie and Bassett. The recent episode involving Debbie Campbell is the most outrageous in the past few years, but B&B did similar numbers on the late C.T. Webster, Rachel Polk, Bill Stacy and Palmer Gillis, among others. Then there are her campaigns against Carolyn Hall and Duke Shanahan, which make the recent E. J. Pipken tirades pale by comparison.

Aren't these kinds of articles sitting around waiting for a slow news day? I mean, this structure has been sitting in the same spot for a very long time, and JUST today it's bothering someone? How ridiculous is this that, in such uncertain times, there is consideration being given to something so UNIMPORTANT? And to be the lead story, well, it's beyond stupid.

To my mind, these "headliners", including the recent attack on Ms. Campbell, are merely SMOKE SCREENS designed to keep ALL attention away from the auditing errors and the lost(misplaced) money amounting to nearly 20 million dollars. I keep reading about 10 million, but we must not forget the water, sewer fund.
That even 5 bucks is misplaced or not in the proper INSURED accounts is TOTALLY unacceptable! Nothing has been done to rectify accounting errors, and the new budget will be proposed sometime SOON. Not to forget the city computers will "be down" for upgrades around the 17th.(about when the new budget comes out) What incredible timing! It's doubtful this is a complete coincidence. The new excuse will be that "computers have been down".

Nothing has been done about the constant leaking of sewage, the amount in ever decreasing gallons, yet the river is now "open" for whatever use.

Next thing you know young people will be practicing music in sombody's basement, again. And more than 60 people will reside in another home on Camden Ave.

When is something going to be done? In fact, a better question is WHAT CAN be done? And sometime soon would be good.

What can be done:
1. Where are the petitions for the recall of BT, LS, and GC?
2. If you think Campbell and Cohen are right and doing a good job, why not come out and show them more support?
3. Stronger showing of citizens at the meetings. Sign up to speak, even if all you do is state your name, address, and that you want more answers to questions that have already been posed, as well as the "government in the sunshine" Smith promised.

Obviously Barrie and her cronies, led by Bubba, are going to try to unseat Ms. Campbell in the election next year. The manufactured story concocted by Barrie, Wilber and Insley is an opening salvo. Those who support Ms. Campbell need to be heard from -- start by cancelling you Daily Times and then come to Council meetings and speak up.

I think that the city has missed out on a lot by not cleaning up the water front area and making it a great area for buisneses. I would love to have more water front stores and restaurants to choose from. Go for it tear the old down and build us something nice to go to. Also I do agree, do it within our means. Thanks Joe for keeping that in focus.

The Daily Diatribe also allowed for the mare to smear Tim Spies in the last election. The funny part is he still almost pulled it off against an incumbent council vice president.

I also hate the little yellow stickers they put on the front cover. How many papers feel so bad about their own front page that they stick an advertisement on it? I mean really, what is that about?

Where is that petition? We feel it's another smokescreen designed to take attention away from real issues and to find out who these bloggers really are, or to remove their anonymity.
C'mon, would you communicate with "trackhawk@comcast.net"? Just the name tells me a lot.
No one has ever said where to go to sign the petitions and no one has showed up at our door. In fact, save for the couple articles in the paper, you hear NOTHING about it.
I was present when the young man made his demands to the council.
And that's the last we've heard.
If you're not present at a meeting, means you must support in other ways. Which we try to do. We do tape the council sessions so we never miss one.
Example, the story chat of the dt. We go there on a regular basis.
Now, please, what else?
