Joe,
I crossed the Upper Ferry twice today. The attendant mentioned that dead fish have been floating down the river all day. He showed me some large rockfish. I guess that the dog and cat pee in Salisbury is responsible for the fish kill. (just ask the mare) I'm sure that sewer spills in Salisbury have nothing to do with it. I would not eat anything from the Wicomico River.

hey farm boy you should get out more often. currently its spawning season and some fish, rockfish in particular, don't eat while they spawn. so between now and the middle of may its not abnormal to see a higher than usual number of dead fish. after may if it's still happening, then it has nothing to do with the sewage spill. lol
they've come up there to spawn, its so toxic its killin'um. way too early for alge blume.
8:41, we're not talk'n shad r herring here, healthy rock dont go belly up after spawn'n and what the hell you think a normal number of dead fish ought'a be?
hip.boots
The boys at Brew River are out there dipping up some of those dead fish. There are probably some that are safe to eat if they haven't been dead too long. I'm sure they'll use the nose test to pick out those they can serve to all you fish lovers. There is a special on fish platters Friday. Enjoy.
the tony tank lake is full of dead fish too although DNR and EPA or some similar agency is apparently looking looking into effluent and disposal from some recent construction at the old Boolukus house on Indian Lane.
Hard to survive in human feces !!!
The nutrients used on the lawns of the affluent is by far a lot more nutrients than a farmer would use in their fields, square foot by square foot. Just got to have a lawn that mirrors a golf course, no matter the effects on the ecology.
anon 7:36 >Excellent point. The powere to be in the EPA need to redirect their focus toward the mansions and standard housing near the lakes, rivers, and the bay.It would prob. blow their minds out.How can farmers have run offs in drought conditions is beyond me.
