This Wednesday Station 7 in Pittsville will be holding a fundraiser to benefit Tommy Forsythe, an 11 year old who has a rare form of Leukemia. Tommy is the son of a Maryland State Trooper. The fundraiser starts at 6pm and goes till close. 10% of sales will go to help his family with medical expenses and there will be give-a-ways as well.

I'm sorry to hear about this child's illness, and disappointed to read that only 10% of the sales will go to his expenses. Is there another way to donate? Please post an address or a bank which is set up to accept donations.
And, tell those people at Sta. 7 to step up and get real. This is a community which typically opens their hearts and wallets to help each other.
Will they be holding an auction, silent or otherwise? I'd be happy to donate a couple of very nice gift baskets for auction.

Donna and anon,
That's all the information I got. I'll be putting up a post before hand to remind everyone. So I'll do a little research about it. I just found out about it tonight.
Thanks Nick, I'll wait to see how this goes.

It's nice to see some fire stations are still playing an important part in the "community feeling". Maybe the new fire house "leaders" should get a clue. They could raise lots of their own money through auctions and renting out ALL that EXTRA space!

Thats right, with 30-40% margin, 10% seems they are just riding the shirt tail of someone less fortunate. Hope there will be other fundraisers, please keep us posted.
Hey Joe, here is the website for Tommy-Heartbreaking-

we are currently doing a fundraiser selling t-shirts for Tommy in Western Md-I can drop some off if you want-
Isn't Sta. 7 a restaurant? Happens to be in an old firehouse, but is a public restaurant. Right?
