well Joe you do know that the gas stations pay more for the gas themseves, right? They are not the ones making the money off the price of oil. The big Oil companies keep claiming record profits, and thats a slam in the face of us tax paying citizens .
The oil companies need to become regulated under the government. For them to have multi million or even billion dollar profits just screams of the need for regulation. This industry is out of control.

The funny thing is that my utility stocks have done the best as the gas price soar

Hey Jim, Tim and all you other fools.
How much does the "Big Oil Companies" make off a gallon of gas? How much does the governmnent make off a gallon of gas?
The average profit margin for the "Big Oil Companies" is around 10%, in contrast the Washington Post makes around a 30% margin.
Mr. Albero you say you are such a good businessman, you of all people should know the difference between profit and profit margin.
It just blows me away of the ignorance of some, this info is readily available.

If it wasn't for the profits of Big Oil and Utilities this country would be in a straight nose dive to deep recession, all shouldered by people that are already being overtaxed.

Fuel prices are the #1 thing killing the economy. Unfortunately we have to drive farther to our work, store, exc. If only we could park our cars and walk.

The most interesting thing is that the US is occupying an oil-rich country. Why wouldn't that help with oil prices? Go figure.

Plus look at the Bush family's ties to Saudi Arabia. Only planes allowed to leave the country minutes after 9-11 had SA leaders on them, father Bush on many boards of Saudia Arabian companies, wanted SA to take over security at our ports. How sad that oil companies and Halliburton have had to endure record profits under the Bush-Cheney regime. What a coincidence.
