POLLITT ORDERS COUNTY FLAGS TO HALF-STAFF ON FRIDAY IN MEMORY OF RICHARD F. HAZEL

Wicomico County Executive Richard M. Pollitt, Jr., has ordered all Wicomico County flags to be flown at half-staff on Friday, February 22nd in memory of Richard F. Hazel, prominent area philanthropist and businessman.

Mr. Pollitt said, “We shall probably never see the like of Dick Hazel again. He was almost as famous for his humility as he was for his generosity. His record of giving to worthy causes and people in need is truly remarkable. He has left an indelible mark of goodwill and charity on Wicomico County that should never be forgotten.”

Kudos to you Mr. Pollitt. Mr. Hazel deserves this and much more. I hope he will be receiving a military send off as well. I'm sure the VFW and American Legion would be more than happy to provide this service as he was a navy veteran.
